TRANSCRIPT
Parent involvement and school outreach is critical for students to succeed in school.
At the beginning of the year, teachers voted to increase parent/school activi-ties as one of our goals this school year. Therefore, we
had family fun night for the Fall carnival night in October 2015. In No-vember and December, teachers and students are planning presenta-tions before the break.
Announcements will be provided each month on the monthly
calendar.
The pictures below illustrate community members playing at the carnival. At school, we are training teachers on how to use games to increase student engagement with Kagan strategies. Students will then play games to learn skills. When learning is fun, the brain is more actively in-volved and memory enhanced.

intervention support (PBIS)
Another goal at Peach Springs is to help students work as a team to experience success. We want to thank Grand Canyon West for agreeing to donate $5,000 to start a school store where students can buy prizes Thursdays 3-4 pm using Tiger Tickets. Students can earn tickets by demonstrating good behavior. Parents volunteers needed for the prize store!

Weekly, we ask teachers to review weekly assessment results and reflect on instruc-tional strategies. During Response to Inter-vention (RTI) Tier 2 and 3 times; students should work in small groups and stations to complete reteach and/or enrichment activi-ties. At Peach Springs, teachers have indi-vidual student data folders (portfolios) to share with parents/guardians to track stu-dents’ academic growth from weekly work samples, assessment data and reports.

Basketball
Using data to guide
instructional decisions
For sports, there will be basketball games held by our new coach, Mr. Ron Quasula Junior. We ask that viewers stay positive and support students. At the elementary level, many students are still learning and basketball should be fun. Please come out and support our girls’ and boys’ team!
