Powerschool – Parent Portal
The parent portal is designed to allow you to view your student’s grades and attendance, email
teachers, sign-up for daily email notifications of your student’s progress, and keep up with school
bulletins.
The picture below shows all the icons and information you can view in Powerschool.
Logging On:
Log on to the Powerschool website through the internet.
Powerschool website: Https://powerschool.district205.net/public
Enter your username and password, then click submit.

Grades and Attendance
The Grades and Attendance screen is the first screen that opens in Powerschool. This screen lists the
student’s grades and number of absences and tardies for each class.
Tip: Any typing listed in blue in Powerschool you can click on to view other information. Example: The
letter grade of “A” is listed for the student’s period 1 class. Click the “A” and you can view all
assignments from the teacher’s grade book leading up to that grade.
Items to view on this page:
� Student’s grade in class by term.
o Click the letter grade to view the assignments in class.
� Student’s attendance in class.
o Click the number in the “Absence” or “Tardies” column to view the absence dates and
reasons.
� The Teacher’s name is listed for each class.
o Click the Teacher’s name to send the teacher an email.
� Show dropped classes.
o Click “Show dropped classes” in blue to view any class the student has dropped during
the current school year.

Grades History
View the student’s term grades for the current school year.
Attendance History
View the student’s period attendance for the current school year.

Email Notification
Sign-up for email notifications of grades, attendance, homework assignments, and school
announcements.
1. Click the check boxes for the information you would like to receive.
2. Click the drop down to choose How Often you would like to receive notifications.
3. Click send now if you would like a test email sent to you.
4. Type in your email address.
5. Click Submit.
Teacher Comments
View comments the teacher has given regarding the student and click on the teacher’s name to send
an email to the teacher.

School Bulletin
View the school’s daily announcements. Click the dates to view the announcements for a different
day.
Class Registration
View the student’s course requests for the current school year.

My Calendars
Subscribe to My Calendars – view class calendar through Outlook
My calendars requires an application which supports the vCalendar standard. To use the Subscribe links
below visit iCalShare to find an application that supports the calendar standard.
Click Subscribe under Class Assignments Only to view upcoming homework assignments by date.
