Class of 2016 Parents,
It’s hard to believe but here we are in the final semester of our children’s high school experience. Where has the time gone?
We are the Senior Class Parent Board Representatives and there are a couple of events that we are responsible for planning. They are the Pre/Post Prom activities (04/28/2016) and Senior Night (05/19/2016). We would like to invite you to join us for our first meeting to plan these two very fun evenings. The meeting will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the JCA library.
We are looking for enthusiastic Moms and Dads to be a part of the planning. The following are the areas that we will need help in:
Baby Picture ContestDecorations: Pre-Prom and Senior NightDonations and Raffles for Senior NightFood: Post-Prom and Senior NightSenior Night activities and rentalsSenior Video
We will have sign-up sheets at the meeting for the various committees and would like to encourage you to take on the role of Committee Chairperson(s).
If you are interested in helping us but are unable to attend the meeting please let us know and we will be happy to sign you up.
Thank you for your time, we appreciate all the help we can get.

Counseling NewsCollege Planning Workshop – Junior Parents and Students ~ Please Join Us! Wednesday. January 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel.FAFSA information:
We encourage all seniors and their par-ents to complete the FAFSA , even if it is estimated, by February 1 to ensure you will be awarded MAP grant dollars if you qualify. The Monetary Award Program (MAP) provides grants, which do not need to be repaid, to Illinois resi-dents who attend approved Illinois col-leges and demonstrate financial need, based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). We do not know the status of the Illinois MAP grant yet due to the budget struggles in Springfield, but if funding is approved, completing the FAFSA by February 1st should put you in good position.
If you need help completing the FAF-SA, you should never pay anyone or a service. The Financial Aid offices at JJC and USF both offer free FAFSA completion workshops that are open to the public. Attached below are the flyers for the USF and JJC workshops on pages 7 and 8 of the Parent Pride newsletter.
