Parents Guide to Google Classroom

What is Google Classroom?

● A shared space where teachers can upload assignments, homework, school news, and more with students and parents!

Getting Started! ● Your child was provided with a secure

login and password that is unique to them.

● They will have to sign in with that to access Google Classroom.

● If you do not have this information, it may be in your child's agenda. If you can not find it, please email their classroom teacher.

Step 1...

● Click on the Google Chrome browser icon.

Step 2...

● Type www.google.com into your web address bar.

Step 3...

● Click on “SIGN IN” in the upper right hand corner of the browser window.

Step 4... ● Type in your child’s Google

email address & click “next.”● Their email address will be

their computer login number followed by “@school.ecsd.net”

Step 5... ● Type in your child’s

password and click “next.”

Step 6... ● Now you will see that you are

signed in. It will have the first initial of your first name.

Step 7... ● Click on the 9 squares

(Waffle/Rubik’s Cube) icon in the top right hand corner to see the Google Suite of Products!

Step 8...● Click on the waffle button

and then the Google Classroom icon.

Step 9...● Your child’s class may already

appear if they have used Google Classroom earlier in the year (1).

● If not, please click on the plus sign to add your child’s classroom (2).

Step 10...● To add your child’s class,

please click on the plus sign (1).

● Then enter your child’s class code (2).

Step 11...● To add your child’s class,

please click on the plus sign (1).

● Then enter your child’s class code (2).

● Then click on “join” (3).● The Google Classroom should

automatically open.
