AllCMGOmembersshouldalsoexpecttovolunteerattheTopFlightInvita/onal(TFI),heldthefirstweekendinDecember.ThisisCMGO’slargestfundraisingevent.Inaddi/on,eachfamilyisencouragedtoaaendCMGOGeneralMembershipMee/ngswheretheyhaveonevotepergymnastonmaaersbroughtbeforethegeneralmembership.MembershipMee/ngstakeplaceinJune,September,December,andMarchusuallyintheeveningsonthesecondWednesday.AllCMGOmembersarewelcometoaaendtheExecutiveBoardmee/ngsaswell.

TimeCommitmentRequirements

Execu/veBoardposi/onsandcommiaeesrequirevaryingamountsof/methroughouttheyeardependingontheposition.OurbusiesttimeisintheFallwhenCMGOisorderingnewattireforgymnasts,registeringformeets,planningteamphotographysessions,anddoingthepre-planningworkfortheTFI.

AllCMGOparents(bothboysandgirls)shouldplantovolunteeratleast10-15hoursattheTFI,whichstartsFridayeveningwithsetupandendsSundaylateeveningwithbreakdown.

JoiningMid-Year

Gymnastswhojoinateammid-yearwillhavetheirassessmentfeepro-ratedby10%ofthetotalcommitmentpermonth,a_erNovember1. Compe//vegymnastsarrivingmid-yearareresponsiblefor100%oftheirmeetregistra/onfees.Theyarealsorequiredtopay100%ofthemembershipfeeandforallcompe//veafre.Expeditedshippingfeesfortheafrewillberequired.

Compe//onAfre Amountvariesdependingonwhatgymnastneeds.Seetheteamspecificmanuals.

HOSTEDMEETSANDCOMMITTEES

Eachcompe//veseason,TopFlightGymnas/csandCMGOhosttheTopFlightInvita/onal(TFI),atwo-daymeetthefirstweekendinDecemberforgirlsinLevels2-10andXcel.VolunteersupportfromCMGOfamiliesisnecessarybefore,during,anda_erthemeettomakeitsuccessful.Asuccessfulmeetisonethatmakescoaches,judges,andgymnastswanttoreturnforanothermeethostedbyourorganiza/on.Notethatinyear’spastTopFlighthashostedmorethanonemeet,andvolunteersupportisneededateachmeet.

TencommiaeesareneededtosuccessfullyruntheTFI.Eachcommiaeeneedsatleastonechairorpreferabletwoco-chairs.RecruitmentofchairsisdoneinJune,duringthefirstannualCMGOMembershipMee/ng.Adescrip/onofeachchair’sresponsibilityisprovidedbelow.AllCMGOfamilies(bothboys’andgirls’parents)shouldexpecttospendatleast10-15hoursvolunteeringattheTFImeet,includinghelpingtosetupforthemeetonFridayevening.Chairsareexpectedtoaaendtheen/remeet(co-chairscandivideupmeetresponsibili/esandvolunteerhours).

Awards–Inventoriesandordersmedalsandtrophiesformeets. Countsandpreparesawardspriortoeachmeet. Overseesdistribu/onofawardsatmeets. AlsoorderstrophiesforteammemberstobedistributedattheEnd-of-the-YearPicnic.

CoachesandJudgesHospitality–Plans,prepares,andpresentsanarrayofsnacksandfooditemsforcoachesandjudgesduringtheTFI. Provideswaterandcandiesforjudgingsta/onsonthecompe//vefloor.

ConcessionsandCMGOHospitality–Plansmorningconcessionsmenuandprepareslistofsuppliesneededpriortomeet. Sellsconcessionsduringmeetspriortofoodvendorarrival.Alsoresponsibleforsefngup,maintaining,andcleaningupfoodanddrinksforallparentvolunteers.

DecoraGons/FaciliGes–Responsiblefororderingandsefngupdecora/ons(dividers,chairs,awardsarea,signage,etc).Alsoresponsibleforsefngupjudgesparkingandgymnastdropoff,monitoringadmissionsarea,andrespondingtofacilityrequests(i.e,spills,toiletpaper).

Finance–Responsibleforsetupofregistersandcollec/onsofallmoniesthroughoutthemeets.Alsoensureschangeisavailableatadmissionandshoutouttables.Provideschecks

attheendofthemeetforjudges.

FirstAid–Responsibleformedicalcoveragethroughoutthemeets.Ensuressuppliesareavailableandformsarecompletedforanyinjuries.Musthaveamedicaldegreebackground(MD,RN,LPN,EMT,etc).

Scoring–Workswithmeetcoordinatorstoentercompe/tordatapriortomeets.Generatescompe/torlistsandassignscompe/tornumberspriortomeets. Preparesjudgingscorecardsforuseatmeets. Entersscoresmanuallyandoncomputerduringmeets. Generatesplacementlis/ngsforusebyAwardsCommiaeeatconclusionofmeets.Providesmeetcoordinatorwithprintoutsofallmeetresults.

Pre-team(non-compe//ve)girlsmaychoosetopurchasearedprac/celeotardforpictureday.Competitivegirlsarerequiredtopurchaseteampracticeleotardtobewornatpracticesspecifiedbythecoaches.Boysarerequiredtopurchasewhitepracticeleotardandshorts.
