• Don'tyelloutinstructions. DuringthegameI'mtryingtoconcentrateonwhatthecoachsaysandworkingonwhatI'vebeenpracticing.It'seasierformetodomybestifyousaveinstructionsandremindersforpracticeorjustbeforethegame.

• Don'tputdowntheofficials. ThisembarrassesmeandIsometimeswonderwhethertheofficialisgoingtobetougheronmebecausemyparentsyell.

• Don'tyellatmeinpublic. ItwilljustmakethingsworsebecauseI'llbeupset,embarrassed,orworriedthatyou'regoingtoyellatmethenexttimeIdosomething"wrong."

• Don'tyellatthecoach. Whenyouyellaboutwhogetstoplaywhatposition,itjuststirsthingsupandtakesawayfromthefun.

• Don'tputdownmyteammates. Don'tmakeput-downremarksaboutanyofmyteammateswhomakemistakes.Ittakesawayfromourteamspiritandyoucertainlywouldn’tappreciatecommentsaboutmewhenImakeamistake(whichIwill).

• Don'tputdowntheotherteam. Whenyoudothisyou'renotgivingusaverygoodexampleofsportsmanshipsowegetmixedmessagesaboutbeing"goodsports."

• Don'tloseyourcool. Ilovetoseeyouexcitedaboutthegame,butthere'snoreasontogetsoupsetthatyouloseyourtemper!It'sourgameandalltheattentionissupposedtobeonusonthefield.

• Don'tlecturemeaboutmistakesafterthegame. ThoserideshomeinthecarafterthegamearenotagoodtimeforlecturesabouthowImessedup-- Ialreadyfeelbadly.Wecantalklater,butpleasestaycalm,anddon'tforgettomentionthingsIdidwellduringgame!
