In India PTA was started in 1960. In1998 , Supreme court gave decision to

all the schools to form PTA legally by election not by selection to from each class and each division.

CONTINUED….PTA was legally approved by the supreme

court after many cases were filed by the parents against collection of heavy fees by the management.

It is ,mandatory for every school to form PTA.

Meaning of PTAThe P.T.A. is a voluntary , non- political

organization of parents, teachers, and other interested in education, who are working for the welfare of the community.

P.T.A.meetings are expected to be attended by all the patents and the school staff.

To promote the welfare of children of institution in home, school and community.

To promote closer interaction between the home and the school.

To develop awareness between the education and the community
