FATHER LEDOUX’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR MARCH WORSHIP: That this Holy Season of Lent will be a fitting preparation for the celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection at Easter through our

prayer, fasting, and almsgiving; bringing forth an increase of the Father’s mercy in our expressions of love toward our neighbor. FAITH FORMATION: That those young adults preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and our RCIA candidates may be fully

disposed to the grace of the Holy Spirit, and that we may experience the fruits of their fidelity. EVANGELIZATION: That the grace of Lent may be an occasion for personal conversion toward the Mercy of Christ’s forgiveness in

Confession in our lives; thereby prompting us to share the joy of having been forgiven and freed from the guilt of our sin. SOCIAL JUSTICE: That in this Holy Season of Lent, we may be more aware of the spiritual and material needs of our brothers and sisters

and perform concrete actions which uphold their human dignity. BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES: In this season of sacrifices, may we be inspired to offer more generously of our resources for the betterment

of our shared spiritual home of St. Peter Parish Church.

HOLY FATHER’S PRAYER INTENTION FOR MARCH

EVANGELIZATION: Support for Persecuted Christians

That persecuted Christians may be supported by the prayers and material help of the whole Church.

THE ANNUNCIATION OF THE LORD Saturday, March 25th

The Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord celebrates the angel

Gabriel's appearance to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-38),

his announcement that the Blessed Virgin had been chosen to be

the Mother of Our Lord, and Mary's fiat—her willing acceptance

of God's holy plan.

And the angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you,

and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.

Therefore, the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of

God. Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May

it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel

departed from her. ~Lk 1:35, 38

PRO-LIFE COORDINATOR NEEDED

St. Peter Parish is in need of a Pro-Life Coordinator. Anyone interested in serving the parish in this apostolate

is asked to contact Fr. Ledoux or Deacon Barney.

There is something about the intimacy of daily Mass that creates a different experience than Sunday Mass. It is the same Mass, but you hear things in different ways; you witness things in a different way. The quiet and peace of the daily Mass experience is a great opportunity to discover the genius of Catholicism. ~Best Lent Ever, Day 18

Brian Harrington April 1 Pope Francis April 2 Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep Thy servants within the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart, where none may harm them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Thy Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, purpled with Thy Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of Thy glorious Priesthood. Let Thy holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. “JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU”

ST. FAUSTINA: "O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord. Lord, give us holy priests; You yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil’s traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things." (Diary 1052)

If everyone gives a little, no one has to give a lot!

PRO-LIFE REFLECTIONS

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

~Gen 2:7

REFLECTION: The act of creation described in Genesis 2:7 is a sovereign act. God did not have to do it. Yet without our asking for it or earning it, God brought us out of nothingness and into life, and sustains our existence at every moment.

PRAYER: Lord, teach us the lesson that there is no God but You and that no human being has dominion over life. Fill us with awe in Your presence.

ST. JOSEPH ALTAR

Thank You!

Our 7th annual St. Joseph Altar was blessed after the 4:00 pm Mass on Saturday, March 18th. On Saturday and Sunday all in attendance were invited to view the altar, pray, leave petitions, and join in a traditional meatless meal and snacks. On Monday, our Carencro Catholic School students were able to view the altar. On all three days, attendees (including the CCS students) received a bag with free items from the altar including a silicon bracelet with a religious saying on it. Also included in the bag was an explanation sheet of the items received. We would like to thank Cindy Courville for coordinating the St. Joseph Altar and all the people who helped prepare the Altar through donations, bringing items to the altar, or setting up the altar. Also, a special thanks to Carencro Catholic School students and their families for contributing items to be used in the baskets for needy families. Through their generosity and the generosity of our parish family, we were able to prepare 10 baskets to help needy families in our area. What a wonderful, faith-filled community!

a support group especially tailored for survivors of suicide. This group will provide a safe place for those who have lost a loved one to suicide to share their struggles, experiences, and pain as they struggle to regain hope and strength. The group will be facilitated by a licensed counselor and is open to all survivors of suicide over the age of 18. The group will meet on two evenings a month. Call Kelley Chapman at (337) 261-5653 for more information or to register.

Boredom is a manifestation of selfishness. It can only occur when we are overly focused on ourselves. It always means that we have set God and neighbor aside to focus exclusively on ourselves, and that is never a recipe for

happiness. ~Best Lent Ever, Day 19

Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God's gifts and shares

these gifts in love of God and neighbor.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP! BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT,

WE HAVE A WONDERFUL PLACE OF WORSHIP.

A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT

Saint Paul gives us a wakeup call. As stewards of the light of Christ, we are to reflect that light with the help of the Holy Spirit. If Christ’s work has transformed and illuminated our lives, there should be a change. The light of Christ’s active presence should be at work in us. And as the light shines within us, we take on the properties of that light and we shine too. We are used by God to shine the light of Christ in the lives of others. A challenging Lenten reflection: Is the light of Christ shining in our hearts? Is the light of Christ reflecting out from us to others?

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES Next week, our parish will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection (CRSC). Funds from this collection help provide food to the hungry, support to displaced refugees, and Christ’s love and respect to all people here at home and abroad. Next week, please give generously to the CRSC and help Jesus in disguise. Learn more about the collection at www.usccb.org/cathoic-relief.

CRS RICE BOWL – Encounter Community We encounter Maria in Mexico, where a community of hardworking women share joys, sorrows and fellowship while growing economic opportunity at a greenhouse. How have your communities helped you encounter Christ anew this Lent? Visit crsricebowl.org for more.

ROSARY FOR PEACE The Rosary for peace for our country and our soldiers will be prayed every Thursday before 6:30am Mass.
