Mission Statement As a faith-filled Christian Community we are committed to building up the Body of Christ and strengthening the Kingdom of God. Through diverse ministries, we share our many gifts to respond to the needs within and outside our Parish Community. By fulfilling our pastoral, sacramental, and educational needs, we, as a Eucharistic Church, work to proclaim the message and presence of the risen Lord.

WELCOME TO NEW PARISHIONERS No matter what your present status in the Catholic Church,
no matter what your current family or marital situation,
no matter what your personal history, age, background, race,
no matter what your own self-image:
You are invited, welcomed, accepted, loved,
and respected here at Our Lady of the Lake.
If you are new to our parish, please contact the Parish Office

Our Annual Partners in Charity Appeal has ended. I am very happy to report that we have received 279
contributions amounting to $63,831. Every gift is important and greatly appreciated. Thank you one and all!
As this bullen goes to press (Wednesday morning), we
are in the final hours of preparing for our annual parish
bazaar: the tents are up, the apples are peeled and ready
to become pies, the various booths are being decorated,
the White Elephant crew (who have been hard at work for
weeks) have finished pricing things, books and jewelry are
well stocked and the weather…well, we live in hope!
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to keep
this annual event alive in our parish. A special word of
thanks to the leadership team for the many hours they
have spent this summer. Great job team!Special appeal: What goes up must come down! We
need help, especially from our young people (junior high
and high school) to trash all the le( over things that were
not sold at the White Elephant. We will need help
beginning Saturday around 8PM. With a lot of helping
hands, we can have this task finished by 10:00 p.m.
PLEASE come and help, all are welcome. Trust me, it will
be fun!!!! Pizza at the end!We also need many hands again on Sunday and Monday
mornings beginning at 9:00 a.m. (and at 6PM on Monday)
to bring everything else down and to store it away unl
next year. Please give us an hour or two, your help really
makes a difference. Please, please give us a helping hand!As part of our Annual Bazaar and in honor of this year
dedicated by Pope Francis to the celebraon of those who
have consecrated their lives to God and the service of His
Church as consecrated religious, we will again this year
offer all of the woman religious living and serving here in
north country a free meal at any me during our bazaar
celebraon. This is a small token of our gratude to these
wonderful women who have given so much to so many.
Please go to the cket booth and idenfy yourself as
religious. Thank you Sisters and God bless you all. In the
words of Pope Francis: “We love you, and we love what
you do each day of your dedicated lives.”

COFFEE SHOP AND CHILD CARE MINISTRIES
We hope to have enough volunteers to start up Child care during the 9:45AM Mass and Coffee Shop on the Sunday after the Bazaar, September 18. We’d like to thank all of our volunteers who make this ministry possible. We are in need of adult volunteers. You would be assigned just one Sunday a month from September through May. Please contact Lisa at the Religious Ed office for more information.
School Supply Donations Are Needed! As always we use the summer months to stock up on office supplies: dry erase markers, staplers, poster board, tissue paper, paper
clips, masking tape, duct tape, Velcro.. If you discover a source of free or low price supplies, please contact us. Thank you!
Are you thinking of a Teaching Ministry?
As we prepare for the start of classes, we are in need of teachers in Grades 1-5 on Mondays and Tuesdays (4:15-
5:15PM) and in Grades 6 and 8 on Tuesday afternoon from 4:15-5:30PM. We also need substitute teachers and aides on both of these days for Grades 1-8. If you think that you may be interested in sharing your faith with our children please call us so that we can help to answer questions and assist in your decision making. All new teachers receive training in lesson planning and classroom management, and we provide support and feedback for all of our teachers throughout the year. We are also looking for someone to serve as a General Aide on Tuesdays to assist students in their search for the restrooms, and to track attendance! If you have an interest in any of these roles, please call the Religious Ed office.

Father Carlos’ Pills of Faith
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
This Sunday’s liturgy tells us how God calls all of us no matter our weaknesses and mistakes. We probably think that
God calls only those who are good, saints, and those who deserve heaven. But no! God calls especially the sinners and unworthy. God has the power to transform all our lives. Let us not be afraid to admit our faults and sins and ask for forgiveness from our Lord Jesus. There is no reason to hide our weak-nesses because God the merciful father forgives us for our sins. When we admit we are weak and make mistakes, we are admitting that we need Jesus, his presence, his strength, his loving and saving power.
Thank you for your Parish Support!

Do you have a compassionate heart and a few hours a month to share?
AseraCare Hospice is seeking caring individuals who would be willing to visit our terminally ill patients in the area. Volunteers spend sacred time together with patients and families simply by accompanying them during their final journey. Companions offer patients healing by practicing a calming presence, deep compassion, and generous listening. We are also in need of veterans who would like to provide special companionship for our veteran patients. Training is free and the hours are flexible. If you have a crafting talent, we are also in need of donations of quilts or blankets for our patients. To learn more please call Kim Iannacci at 508-721-1219 or email [email protected].
