VOLUNTEERS

We run the Children's Liturgy sessions during 10.30 mass each week in school term time. The Pre-School group meet downstairs and children must have a parent/carer with them. The School age children (Reception, Year 1 and 2, and Year 3 up until they do their First Holy Communion) meet upstairs and we encour-age these children to come along independently. All our leaders and helpers are DBS checked.

If you would like to find out more, please get in touch with Vicky Squire.

OUR LADY OF THE VISITATION:

The month of May, is a special month of devotion to Mary, it is hoped to foster family prayer and the recitation of the rosary for the intention of peace in our homes and in the world. The focus for this will be the statue of Our Blessed Lady of the Visitation.

The statue is passed from household to household and it gives a chance for those families to come together in prayer for peace, perhaps saying the rosary together, before the statue is left with the host family for them to then pass on to the next family. At the back of Church there is a list for you to sign up for whichever day of the month you would like to have the statue in your home.

Holy Spirit Bookshop -

Holy Communion, Confirmation and Baptism cards and gifts available. Rosaries, Bibles, Missals, statues, children's books, medals, prayer cards, Mass cards and cards for most occasions. Open after weekend Masses. Please feel free to come and look.

COTGRAVE ACTIVITIES

CAFOD The quiz raised over £320 for CAFOD which will be doubled by UKAID. The answer sheets are on the notice board. Thank you to all who took part.

Sacrament of the Sick and Benediction. Sunday 20th May at 3pm.

Tea and cake afterwards in the Social Centre. All Welcome.

On Thursday May 10th in Nottingham Albert Hall, from 6.30 - 8.30pm Nottingham Citizens are having their annual assembly, celebrating past successes and updating their progress, and also introducing this year's projects.

The current projects are focused around:

hate crime, homelessness, modern slav-ery, mental health , social care , diversity, and the living wage

The event will bring together 800 of our com-munity leaders in Nottingham to celebrate and update progress on current and past wins and also to win new justice on the above areas of concern. People attending can expect an in-spiring night full of moving and powerful sto-ries, wonderful and diverse entertainment, and of course fresh commitments from decision-makers that will bring positive change to the lives of people in the communities we care about.

It is particularly good for younger people to see how positive community engagement and ac-tion have such an effect and create change in society. There will be people of all ages, in-cluding primary and secondary school pupils as well as university students and people from all walks of life. It really is a celebration of our culturally rich society.

It would be good if as many of us as possible could attend to make our parish presence felt!

If anyone within our parish or within our wider community would like to come they would be most welcome.

Please note this is a ticket only event. Contact Father Michael or John Murray [email protected] (Cotgrave)
