Praise: “Trust and Obey” Prompt: Ask your child these questions: • How did God test Abraham’s faith? • Did Abraham trust God to provide the sacrifice? • Did Abraham love God more than he loved Isaac? Practice: Help your child apply these truths in the following ways: • By obeying God’s Word, no matter what the cost. • By trusting God to help him obey. • By praying for God’s help in times of testing. This Week: As a family, read Genesis 22:1–19; Hebrews 11:17–19. Next Week: Genesis 25:21–26; 27:1–29

Orphan Sunday November 8, 2009 "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who

are destitute." Proverbs 31:8  Parish Presbyterian Church is committed to the Biblical mandate to care for the orphan and the widow. There are approximately 145 million orphans worldwide. People of all ages can be involved in different ways, and in varying degrees. Below is a list of resources for the care of orphans locally and internationally.

AdoptionParish Presbyterian Adoption Fund Parish Presbyterian Church has established an adoption fund through Lifesong for Orphans. This fund offers interest-free loans and in some situations provides grants for adopting PPC families. Learn more at lifesongfororphans.org/index.htm. Families minister to others within our body by contributing directly to the adoption fund. Make checks out to Parish Pres, and write "Lifesong Adoption Fund" in the memo line.
