PARISH LIFE/ACTIVITIES

“...as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must forgive” - Colossians 3:13

Forgiveness - one of the hardest things for people to do. Its amazing how long we can hold a grudge or be angry with someone. As we celebrate the feast of the Holy Family, take this opportunity to give the gift of forgiveness to someone - maybe someone in your family, a friend, a co-worker, neighbor or maybe yourself.

FAITH FORMATION

Cross Train Your Faith On the Thursday, New Year’s Day, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Holy Mother of God.

It is the highest title of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Theotokos, Mother of God. This title

was given to Mary at the Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D. The council taught that the humanity and divinity of Jesus could not be separated and that they exist in one person, with the momentous implication that we can rightly give Mary the title of Mother of God.

Mother’s bring life, a gift from God, into the world. This feast is the celebration of Mary’s motherhood of Jesus and is the oldest feast of Mary celebrated by the Catholic Church. Come join in the celebration of the Mother of God.

The members of our Cross Train Your Faith Team wish eve-ryone a Blessed and Happy New Year. All Cross Train Your Faith programs take place on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM and 7:00 PM in the Parish Center and are free. Come join your neighbors and friends for these Catholic learning experi-ences. We will begin again on January 7, 2015 with the movie “Heaven is for Real”.

“Cross Train Your Faith” is part of the Adult Faith Formation Program here at Queen where we provide pro-grams of study and present information of Catholic learning for the adults of Our Parish Family.

If you have suggestions for future programs please let us know by contacting John Murray in the Parish Center at 215-945-0215

Host a Family during the World Meeting of Families! Many people have asked, "How can I help with the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia 2015?" One way is to Host a Family, since the number of visitors expected greatly exceeds the number of hotel rooms in the region. Homestay, a Dublin company, works every day to match host families with visitors using an online system. They created a special online host family site just for WMOF 2015. Parishioners, school families, and others can easily sign up online to be host families. Look for a flyer at the entrance of church. For more information, visit www.worldmeeting2015. org under Host a Family, or h t t p : / / b i t . l y / H o s t A F a m i l y . P l e a s e e m a i l [email protected] if you have any questions about Homestay.
