NEWSLETTER PARK COUNTY 4-H
2015JULY
GREETINGS FROM KELSEY
It's hard to believe the 4th of July has been celebrated! There has been a lot of great learning going on this summer and it has been such a pleasure for me to see our members excelling with presentations, robotics, and the livestock clinics we have had. I am not always able to be where our members are learning, but I wish I could be. I am sure our volunteers and parents are busy preparing our members for Fair, but if you need anything don't hesitate to contact our office!
4-Hers, remember that sometimes we focus on competition during Fair time, and it seems very important, but whether you place 1st or last it is the fact you worked hard that is the most important thing. I know you all work hard and I want to say bravo for your time and commitment!
Good luck!
Kelsey

Portfolios will be due this year on September 15th

PORTFOLIO INFORMATION
There is a new portfolio format if you would like to check it out at http://www.uwyo.edu/4-h/
portfolio/index.html
This is a type and save format. Due to some technical difficulties with the website at this time you
will need to go in through Internet Explorer to use the type and save version. Make sure to use the
correct version for your age division.
If you have already started your portfolio with last years version from the state level please do not
panic because we will be accepting both versions this year. Remember filling out a portfolio helps
to earn scholarships, trips and awards.
Now would be a good time to have your goals filled out and complete as much of your portfolio as
you can.
Leaders:
Rachel Olsen and Julie Miner are working on putting together a project list and
a list of leaders that are available to help with those projects for the general
membership to use as a resource for help in that project area. If you are availa-
ble to help with a particular project please call the office at 754-8836 to let them
know you would like to be on the list.

Hr Sweet Fairfax known as Ratchet, this mare received her name because of the wrench on her fore-
head. She is a bay with a blaze and two hind white socks. This young 3 year old filly is an outstanding
horse. She is very athletic, well-built, and a lover. She is the kind of horse who will great and give you
kisses at all times. She has 30 days of ridding and has been in and out of the arena and on the hills. I
have started roping off her, she has also had a cap gun shot off of her and whips cracked off of her
to get her ready for shooting. This mare is bread for speed on the bottom and cow horse on her top side.
Her papers are on allbreedpedigress (http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/hr+sweet+fairfax). She is regis-
tered but has no papers right now. We are working things out to receive so by the time a new owner has
her they will have them, and there are also videos available. This is a really nice mare so don't let her slide
