NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

National Night Out, ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime,’ is an annual community building campaign that promotes Police – Community cooperation and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live in. This event is designed to enhance the relationship between citizens and law enforcement and tries to instill a true sense of community in each neighborhood.

In speaking of the importance of National Night Out Vice President Joseph Biden, 47th Vice President of the United States, said:

...a  chance  to  bring  neighborhoods  together                   with  the  men  and  women  who  protect  them.                   The  safety  of  our  communities  depend  on  both         law  enforcement  and  the  neighbors  they  serve.     National  Night  Out  enhances  that  cooperation.

Maintenance Tip of the Month WASHERS & DRYERS

“Please help us to help you”

Tower residents with individual WASHER AND DRYER units need to be aware of the following operational practices to achieve consistent, reliable and lower operational cost service. Follow your owner's manual on proper use. If you do not have one, PLB will provide it. Simply call the Service Department at (323) 549-5599.

WASHER: Do not overload your washer. Leave your washer door cracked open after every use so your unit can naturally air dry. Make sure all clothing pockets are checked and that all items are removed before you put your clothing into the washer. It is your responsibility to wipe down both the grey washer door gasket and the inner door gasket channel regularly. Use a dry rag to wipe the channel out (360 degree sweep). Clean the channel with mild soap and water. Do not allow grime, debris, or detergent to accumulate in the inner gasket channel.

DRYER: Do not overload your electric dryer. Proper dryer use can result in lowered electrical costs. Remove and clean your dryer lint screen after each dryer use. Dry your clothes at the appropriate temperature. Do not dry anything that has a rubber backing on high heat (i.e. bath mats).

TOP STORAGE: A number of residents store their detergent on top of the dryer. If you do this place the detergent on either a plastic tray or in a container to prevent spillage. If detergent spills while being stored on top of the dryer, it can fall into the electronic components of the dryer and cause damage.
