Park System Golf ID Cards Golfers who purchase an annual ID card may ac-cess the Tee Time Reservation System and qualify for certain discounts. Monmouth County residents, and non-resident juniors and seniors, are entitled to reduced greens fees; non-resident adults pay regular fees. Purchase an ID card in person at any Park System course during the golf season; cards expire December 31st of each year.

Prospective golfers must provide the following forms of identification to purchase a Resident Golf ID Card: 1. Current NJ Driver’s License with photo showing street address in Monmouth County OR 2. Current Residential Property Tax Bill* with applicant’s name and street address PLUS one of the following: • Current Driver’s License with photo • Last year’s Golf ID Card • Current Vehicle Registration Card • Current Voter Registration Card • Current NJ Fishing/Hunting LicenseUtility bills, bank statements and credit cards are not acceptable.

Photo identification required for non-resident ID card purchases as well.

The Tee Time Reservation System is available by phone or online, 24 hours per day/7 days per week. Access to the system is included with the purchase of a Golf ID card.

Reservations become available starting at 8pm, seven days prior to play. For example, tee times for a given Saturday will become available the previous Saturday at 8pm.

* Property owners and immediate family members may qualify; addresses must match.

Discounts for county residents, seniors and juniors along with matinee rates, off-season pricing and a series of promotional incentives are available at select courses.

EtiquetteThe Park System requests that each golfer help keep the pace of play at a reasonable rate. A round of golf on a regulation course should never take more than 4½ hours.

Golfers are asked to rake footprints in sand bunkers, repair ball marks on the greens and divots on the tees, fairways and rough. Metal spike shoes are prohibited.

Golfers should report to the golf center 30 minutes prior to tee time. Golf Course Rules & Regulations are avail-able online.

Golf Season (weather permitting)Bel-Aire and Shark River are open all year. The golf season for Charleston Springs, Pine Brook, Hominy Hill and Howell Park begins on March 15 and contin-ues through December 23.

EXECUTIVE COURSES

Bel-Aire has an 18-hole execu-tive course and a 9-hole, par 3 course, and is open year-round (conditions permitting). Located a few miles from the beach, this 114-acre course is the Jersey Shore’s go-to site for both summer and winter golf.

Amenities include a golf center with vending machines and a practice putting green.

From Parkway Exit 98 take Rt. 34 South. Follow for 1 mile to the circle, and take Route 524 East/Allaire Road.

Pine Brook Golf Course1 Covered Bridge Boulevard Manalapan, NJ 07726(732) 536-7272

This 61-acre, 18-hole executive length course is nestled in the Covered Bridge Community against a backdrop of picturesque scenery. It offers a playable yet challenging design that will have you using every club in your bag.

Amenities include a golf center with vending machines and a practice putting green.

Take Rt. 18 to Exit 30 and follow Route 9 South. Turn right onto Covered Bridge Boulevard and follow to course entrance.

Offering 36 holes of champion-ship caliber golf on two beautiful courses, Charleston Springs was designed by noted golf architect Mark Mungeam. This 781-acre property fits right into the scenic, rural landscape of western Monmouth County.

The North Course is a links-style course with extensive bunkering; multiple water hazards; and large, immaculately maintained greens. The South Course is designed in the classic parkland style, using existing terrain and natural landscape features.

Amenities include a golf center with snack bar, food service, a warm-up range and practice putting green, locker rooms with showers and a 2 mile multi-use trail (access trail from Stagecoach Rd./Rt. 524).

Take I-195 to Exit 16 (Rt. 537-Freehold). Follow for 4 miles and turn left at light onto Rt. 527 (Smithburg/ Woodville Rd.).

Designed by Scottish golf pro Joseph “Scotty” I’ Anson, Shark River’s penal design features tight, narrow fairways; deep-faced bunkers; and the challenge of small, well-protected greens – a stern but fair test to all golfers. Shark River, at 176 acres, is open year-round (conditions permitting) with temporary tees and greens in winter.

From Parkway Exit 100 take Rt. 33 East, turn right onto Old Corlies Ave. to course on right.

Hominy Hill Golf Course92 Mercer RoadColts Neck, NJ 07722(732) 462-9222

Robert Trent Jones designed this championship 18-hole course in the 1960s, and since then, it has hosted two USGA Championship events. Known for its challenging layout and immaculate condi-tions, Hominy Hill, at 262-acres, is often ranked among the top public golf courses in America.

Amenities include a golf center with vending machines, food service, a warm-up range and practice putting green, locker rooms with show-ers and a 0.8 mile multi-use trail (access trail from Matthews Rd.).

From Rt. 18, take Exit 22 to Rt. 537 East. Follow to Mercer Rd, turn right.

With its rustic setting, manicured bentgrass fairways, and fast sloping greens Howell Park provides a golf experience generally associated with private clubs. It has been ranked among the top 50 public courses in America by national golf publications.

Amenities at this 311-acre facility include a golf center with vending machines, food service, a warm-up range and practice putting green. Access to the Manasaquan River available for canoes/kayaks and fishing.

From Parkway or NJ Turnpike, take I-195 to Exit 31B/Farmingdale and follow brown directional signs to course.

Charleston Springs Short Game Area

This 5-acre facility offers 2 chipping greens, a putting green, 2 green-side bunkers, a fairway bunker and an acre of fairway.

All features are maintained to the same stan-dards as the main courses. FREE same day access with purchase of daily greens fee.
