welcome messages

PARK2PARK TEAMThe 2013 Ipswich Park2Park is all about champi-oning last year’s event in number of registrations and adding value for you, our sup-

porters. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable morning, the list of events offered at the Ipswich Park2Park now includes a NEW 5km Walk and the existing 5km run, 10km, half marathon and family challenge. The addition of a 5km walk event will limit congestion in the 5km run.

This year we have experienced an overwhelming number of personal trainers and fitness groups register their interest to help Park2Park participants in training for the race – some even donating the proceeds to us! It is pleasing to see so many different groups scattered around Ipswich preparing for the Park2Park and gener-ally being active and healthy. I think we can safely say the fitness levels of our P2P participants will be at an all-time high!

The Ipswich Hospital Foundation are in a great position of privilege. We have the opportunity and avenues to fertilise and grow the health services in our community and the Park2Park is an avenue for this. We truly could not do this without you.

We hope you all agree that spreading the health message, raising funds and painting the town green with the Park2Park movement is a great way to spend a Sunday!

Beneficiary of the Park2Park

Thanks for your support!

IPSWICH MAYOR, PAUL PISASALEAs Mayor of the City of Ipswich and on behalf of all councillors, I am proud to be associated with the Ipswich Hospital Foundation and the annual Park2Park Fun Run.This fun run has steadily grown in stature and is a great opportu-nity for family, friends and work

colleagues, to join together and enjoy the camaraderie on the day with other like-minded runners, walkers and fitness gurus. This day has something to challenge everyone, no matter what their current level of fitness and ability. This event offers a half marathon, 10k, 5k and a family challenge run.It is great to see this annual competition is now widely recognised on the “fitness” calendar. I also know that sponsors, volunteers and participants will agree that this is a worthwhile collaboration and augments the tremendous programs initiated by the Ipswich Hospital Foundation which provide free and low-cost physical activity opportunities throughout the city. My congratulations again to everyone involved at the Ipswich Hospital Foundation on their organisation of this event that is so widely supported and appreciated in our community.
