Subject: Prop. DC valves To: Distribution list A+B D1FP*S Extension of valve series

Contact: H. Pape Date: August 06, 2004 Extension: -379 Fax: -390 E-mail: [email protected] Product Line: FGJ

Dear Madams and Sirs, HCD presents another enhancement of the revolutionary valve series DFplus® with patented VCD® (“Voice Coil Drive”) technology: D1FP*S comes with a new valve body with mounting pattern size 04 acc. to ISO 10372. It allows easy replacement of common servovalves of that size, e.g. Moog D760, D761 and D765. A special adapter plate is no longer neccesary. At a list price of 2499 € you now have at your disposal an additional, interesting alternative in price and technology. Of course this valve comes with all the advantages of the DFplus® series like superior positioning, excellent resolution and ultra fast response times.

Breakthrough in PropDFplus, the low-cost alternative to “genuine“ servo valves

There is a new generation of proportional directionalvalves: the series DFplus® from Parker with VCD® drivetechnology. Unique in the market, the DFplus® valvereaches 400Hz across the entire operating range. Thisperformance was previously only achieved by servovalves.

Likewise, across the total operating range, DFplus®

valves generate a force level of over 100N and can beoperated without performance limits up to 350bar. Therobust and typical Parker quality guarantees a long ser-vice life.

For best possible transmission of force, the spool of theDFplus® series is mechanically connected to the drive. It operates bi-directionally and possesses a spool posi-tion feedback, which ensures high precision and repro-ducibility of regulated flow rates.

The new Parker DFplus® valve closes the market gapbetween proportional and servo technology. With supe-rior positioning, excellent resolution and ultra quick re-sponse time, it simultaneously revolutionizes the DF-plus® and electrohydraulic system design – available ata stable, attractive price.

VCD® Technology

With the VCD® technology Parker has a successful break-through in the drive technology for proportional direc-tional control valves. In contrast to standard proportionalsolenoid drives, this technology will actuate the spool(1) by using a moveable coil (2). The coil is on the bodyside connected with the spool and goes on the actuatorside over a permanent magnetic cylinder (3). At energiz-ing of the coil, the spool will be moved actively in thedesired position depending on direction of current flow. The actual position is sent back over a high resolutionfeedback system to the control electronics. At power fail-

ure, the valve will be driven by a spring to a definedposition.

Advantages compared to traditional drives:

• No active return spring required High actuatingforce/dynamics

• Low moved masses by high force density Highactuating force/dynamics

• No additional bearing in actuator Low friction/hysteresis
