Why Do You Need to Know About Learning Disabilities (LD)?

It is a high incidence type disability and there are a variety of types of Learning Disabilities To appropriately serve and support students with LD, staff

must have a basic understanding of LD in order to: Identify and implement strategies Identify and implement appropriate accommodations Evaluate effectiveness of supports and accommodations provided

A LD is a neurobiological condition that affects the way individuals of average to above average intelligence Receive information Process information Express information

LD can impact the ability to acquire basic skills of listening, speaking, thinking, reading, spelling, writing, and/or mathematics

Notification

Bi-weekly emails - DCs should email staff at least bi-weekly a list of students with accommodation plans in CIS that specifically indicate any plans that are new or updated Copies of these emails will be stored and maintained by a DC Managers are responsible for ensuring that approved

accommodations are implemented in their areas of supervision

1. Go to the storage supply cabinet and get cleaning supplies

2. Spray cleaner under rim of toilet bowl and let sit for 5 minutes

3. Use scrub brush and scrub inside of toilet bowl4. Flush toilet and make sure bowl is clean5. Use disinfecting wipe and wipe down outside of toilet
