Shenzhen is 6000 years old now. Before 1979, Shenzhen was a small town. There were not many people. Most of them were fishermen and farmers. The houses were short and ugly. There was not much traffic. There were only small roads then. People lived a simple life.

People work here from all over the world.There are lots of apartment buildings and office buildings. There is always a lot of traffic in Shenzhen---day and night. People like to live, work and shop in Shenzhen. Shenzhen has become a modern international city.
