1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.(Fig. A1)

i. Cover the fender before starting.

ii. Be careful to not touch the positivebattery terminal.

1. Remove and save the three bolts securingR/B No. 2 to the body in the engineroom. (Fig. B1)

2. Locate the vehicle harnessÕ gray 2Pconnector, then remove and discard theblack cap. (Fig. B2)

i. Locate the 2P connector betweenR/B No. 2 and the body.

ii. Pull the connector toward the batteryto remove the cap and make theconnection.

3. Connect the Piezo BuzzerÕs gray 2Pconnector to the vehicle harnessÕ 2P grayconnector. (Fig. B3)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged insecurely.

4. Using a large strip of foam tape, wrap thePiezo Buzzer. (Fig. B3)

5. Secure the Buzzer to the vehicleÕs harnesswith two large wire ties. (Fig. B3)

i. Secure the Buzzer so its hole is angleddown.

ii. Do not secure the piezo buzzer to thehood release cable.

iii. Clip the wire ties.

i. Verify the connectors are plugged insecurely.

3. Secure the V3 harness to the vehicleharness with one medium wire tie.(Fig. C1)

1. Clean the inside surface of the frontdoorÕs windows. (Fig. H1)

ii. Do not touch the adhesive surface ofthe warning labels.

1. Complete the reassembly of the vehicle.

i. Reconnect any disconnectedconnectors.

ii. Verify the panels fit together properlywith no uneven gaps between them.

2. Clean up and remove any trash.

3. Reconnect the vehicleÕs negative batterycable. (Fig. I1)

i. Attach the battery cable at a 45degree angle as shown.

ii. Tighten the nut with 3 ft¥lbs oftorque.

iii. Be careful to not touch the positivebattery terminal.

4. Place the remote controls, ownerÕs guideand insurance card, left in their protectivebags, into the glove box.

Open and close the driverÕs door.

Arm and disarm the system with theremote again, then wait thirty seconds.

Press and release the remoteÕs top buttonagain to disarm the system.

Open the driverÕs door, then press andrelease the remoteÕs top button.

Close the driverÕs door.

Press and hold the remoteÕs top button formore than two seconds.

Look for:

The tail and marker lights flash once.The Piezo chirps once.The interior lights turn on for three seconds.Both doors lock.The Status MonitorÕs LED starts flashing.

The tail and marker lights flash twice.The Piezo chirps twice.The interior lights turn on for thirty seconds.Both doors unlock.The Status MonitorÕs LED stops flashing.

Check:

Press and release the remoteÕs top button.

Sit in the driverÕs seat and make sure bothdoors are closed.

Insert the key into the ignition switch andturn it to ÒONÓ.

Turn the key back to ÒACCÓ.

Turn the key to ÒONÓ, roll down bothwindows, turn the key back to ÒLOCKÓ,then remove it and exit the vehicle.

Press and release the remoteÕs top buttonto arm the system.

Reach inside, unlock and open driverÕsdoor, then sit in the driverÕs seat.

(If checking a M/T vehicle, fully depressthe clutch pedal for the next step.)

Insert the key into the ignition switch andturn it to ÒSTARTÓ.

Turn the key back to ÒACCÓ, then toÒSTARTÓ again.

Turn the key back to ÒLOCKÓ, remove it,exit the vehicle, then check the front pas−senger door without performing the startercut check.

Look for:

The horn stops sounding.All the lights stop flashing.The Piezo chirps twice.

Both doors lock.

Both doors unlock.

The tail and marker lights flash once.The Piezo chirps once.The interior lights turn on for three seconds.Both doors lock.The Status MonitorÕs LED starts flashing.

The engine does not start (no cranking).

Check:

Roll up both windows, remove the keyand exit the vehicle.

Press and release the remoteÕs top buttonto arm the system.

Pull the plunger on the striker tool 1/3 to1/2 way out, then release it to strike thecenter of the driverÕs door window.

Pull the plunger all the way out to tap thecenter of the driverÕs door window again.

Disarm the system with the remote.

Look for:

The tail and marker lights flash once.The Piezo chirps once.The interior lights turn on for three seconds.Both doors lock.The Status MonitorÕs LED starts flashing.

The alarm should not be triggered.

The horn starts sounding.The tail and marker lights starts flashing.

Note: If you do not disarm the system with the remote control, the horn will sound and the lights will flash for 20 seconds. It is

not necessary to check the alarm duration.

The horn stops sounding.All the lights stop flashing.The Status MonitorÕs LED stops flashing.

A. Vehicle Disassembly

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.(Fig. A1)

i. Cover the fender before starting.

ii. Be careful to not touch the positive batteryterminal.

2. Remove the driverÕs step cover. (Fig. A2)

i. Protect the seat and floor before starting.

iii. Do not scratch the cover.

3. Remove the driverÕs cowl cover. (Fig. A3)

i. Do not scratch the cover.

4. Remove the hood release lever. (Fig. A4)

i. Remove the two screws securing the lever tothe lower dash cover.

ii. Remove the cable from the lever.

5. Remove the lower dash cover. (Fig. A4)

ii. Do not scratch the cove

6. Loosen the vehicleÕs wire harness if so equipped.(Fig. A5)

i. Unfasten the clips securing the harness.

7. Remove the middle heater duct. (Fig. A6)

i. Remove the screw securing the heater ductÕsbracket to the vehicle.

8. Prepare a protective sheet, then place protectivesheet over the front edge of the center console.(Fig. A7)

9. Loosen the bracket cover, but do not remove thecover. (Fig. A8)

i. Remove the two clips securing the bracketcover.

ii. Do not scratch the cover.

iii. Do not bend the cover.

B. Piezo Buzzer Installation

1. Remove and save the three bolts securing R/B No. 2to the body in the engine room. (Fig B1)

2. Locate the vehicle harnessÕ gray 2P connector, thenremove and discard the black cap. (Fig. B2)

ii. Pull the connector toward the battery toremove the cap and make the connection.

3. Connect the Piezo BuzzerÕs gray 2P connector to thevehicle harnessÕ 2P gray connector. (Fig. B3)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

4. Using a large strip of foam tape, wrap the PiezoBuzzer. (Fig. B3)

5. Secure the Buzzer to the vehicleÕs harness with twolarge wire ties. (Fig. B3)

i. Secure the Buzzer so its hole is angled down.

ii. Do not secure the piezo buzzer to the hoodrelease cable.

iii. Clip the wire ties.

C. V3 Harness and V3 ECU Installation

2. Plug in the V3 harnessÕ 6P connector into thevehicle harnessÕ 6P connector. (Fig. C1)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

3. Secure the V3 harness to the vehicle harness withone medium wire tie. (Fig. C1)

i. Clip the wire tie.

4. Remove the backing sheet from the butyl tape,then apply to the top of the V3 ECU as shown.(Fig. C2)

i. Remove only one backing sheet from thebutyl tape.

ii. Press the butyl tape firmly onto the ECU,making sure they make complete contact.

5. Plug in the V3 harnessÕ two 10P connectors and4P connector to the V3 ECU as shown. (Fig. C3)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

6. Using 3M Prep Solvent 70, clean the surface ofthe Driver Side cowl area as shown. (Fig. C4)

i. Remove and save the foam block from the driverÕs side lower cowl hole.

7. Remove the backing sheet from the butyl tape,then attach the V3 ECU to the shaded area of theDriver Side cowl area as shown. (Fig. C4)

i. Press the V3 ECU firmly to the Driver Sidecowl area.

8. Using the extra large wire tie, secure the V3 ECUto the Driver Side cowl area as shown. (Fig. C5)

i. Reinsert the foam block in the driverÕs sidelower cowl hole.

ii. Clip the wire tie.

9. Secure the V3 harness to the V3 ECU with onemedium wire tie. (Fig. C5)

i. Clip the wire tie.

11. Remove the white 14P connector from the DriverSide J/B. (Fig. C7)

i. Do not pull on the wires; pull on theconnector.

12. Plug in the V3 harnessÕ 14P connectors betweenthe DriverÕs Side J/B and vehicle harnessÕ white14P connector. (Fig. C8)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

13. Secure the V3 harness to the Driver Side J/B withone large wire tie as shown. (Fig. C8)

D. GBS ECU Installation and Connection

1. Attach the small foam tape to the edge of the GBSECU. (Fig. D1)

2. Turn the adjustment screw on the GBS ECU tothe "5" position. (Fig. D2)

i. Adjust as necessary during the functionalverifications.

3. Insert two medium wire ties through the slits inthe back of the GBS ECU. (Fig. D2)

4. Plug in the V3 harnessÕ clear 6P connector intothe GBS ECU. (Fig. D3)

i. Verify the connector is plugged in securely.

5. Secure the GBS ECU to the vehicle harness nearDriver Side J/B as shown. (Fig. D3)

i. Clip the wire ties.

E. V3 Harness Installation(Continued)

1. Locate and disconnect the 8P connector from theignition switch. (Fig.E1)

i. Do not pull on the wires; pull on theconnector.

2. Plug in the V3 harnessÕ 8P connectors betweenthe vehicle harnessÕ 8P connector and the ignitionswitch. (Fig. E2)

i. Verify the connectors are plugged in securely.

4. Using one medium wire tie, secure the V3harnessÕ 8P connectors to the existing wire tiearound the ignition switch cylinder. (Fig. E3)

i. Clip the medium wire tie.

F. Antenna Wire Installation

1. Route the GRAY Antenna wire up the ignitionswitch cylinder, then secure it to the cylinder witha large wire tie. (Fig. F1)

i. Pull the wire tie very tight.

ii. Clip the wire tie.

2. Cut off the excess Antenna wire as show. (Fig. F1)

i. Do not cut any other wires

3. Route the V3 harness toward the center consolearea , then secure it to the vehicle harness withone medium wire tie. (Fig. F2)

i. Clip the wire tie.

G. Status Monitor Installation and Connection

1. With the bracket cover loosened, reach behindand remove the middle knockout cover from thebracket cover. (Fig. G1)

i. Do not scratch the cover.

ii. Do not bend the cover.

2. Install Status monitor to the bracket cover.

3. Connect the V3 harnessÕ clear and blue 2Pconnectors to the Status MonitorÕs clear and blue2P connectors, then wrap them with a large stripof foam tape. (Fig. G2)

i. Verify the connector are plugged in securely.

H. Warning Label Installation

1. Clean the inside surface of the front doorÕswindows. (Fig. H1)

2. Place the warning label on the inside surface of thefront doorÕs windows as shown. (Fig. H1)

i. Use a piece of clear adhesive tape to lift thelabels off of their protective backing sheet.

ii. Do not touch the adhesive surface of thewarning labels.

I. Completing the Installation

1. Complete the reassembly of the vehicle.

i. Reconnect any disconnected connectors.

ii. Verify the panels fit together properly with nouneven gaps between them.

3. Reconnect the vehicleÕs negative battery cable. (Fig. I1)

ii. Be careful to not touch the positive batteryterminal.

4. Place the remote controls, ownerÕs guide andinsurance card, left in their protective bags, intothe glove box.
