PROGRAM DETAILS International Week 2018 “ASEAN Business Environment” is a combination of activities: 1. Public Lecture and Project Orientation Public lecture is a single session that discusses “Understanding ASEAN”. The Project Orientation will briefly describe the cases and distribute them to the groups of participants. Each group will be given time to conduct discussion and solve the problem until August 3, 2018. All the groups are required to present their works on that day, and the best-performing group will be announced on the closing ceremony. Other than that, each group also has to submit an publishable article. The article acts as the impact of iWeek 2018 and is expected to be published in newspapers or other format of publication such as magazines. The purpose of the article publication is to encourage students to have better understanding on ASEAN. The topics designed are based on the issues raised in ASEAN Business Environment. 2. CEO Talk CEO Talk provides a number of practitioners’ strategic perspective relevant to the topic of ASEAN Business Environment. Two CEOs are selected to share their invaluable knowledge to International Week 2018 participants. Each CEO will be a precious opportunity for participants to confirm the application of their understanding concerning a number of issues. 3. Series of Lectures Series of lectures is the main feature of iWeek 2018. In this activity, students are encourage to engage in each of the lecture actively through discussions, presentations, group works, and minor research activity. Good English capability is an important requirement for the students to gain the most benefits of iWeek 2018 lecturers and fellow participants who are coming from various countries and disciplines. Three credits granted for students participating in iWeek 2018 will be assessed mainly from their engagement within each of the lecture sessions. Throughout iWeek 2018, there will be four lectures of two hours sessions each. The topics to be delivered within the lectures are:

a. ASEAN Industrial and Sectoral Policies b. ASEAN Regional Economy c. ASEAN Political & Governmental Environment d. Financial and Investment in ASEAN region e. Value Creation in Emerging Markets f. Human Resources in ASEAN g. Taking ekonomi kerakyatan to ASEAN Community

4. Case Study Lectures Case Study is essential part in the iWeek 2018 as it discusses in depth the issues brought by the case writer and its theoretical framework supporting the case. Students will have two sessions of case study lecture each day delivered by the case writer. Students will be asked to discuss and look for findings of the proposed problems found. The case writer will discuss the theoretical framework underpinned in the first session. In the second session, students will be working in groups and discussing the given case to find the solution. Each group will do

short presentation regarding it. There will be four case study lectures deliverd by lecturers from ASEAN universities. 5. Company Visit This agenda will allow participants of International Week to understand how management is applied in real business. In company visit, the participants will listen to a presentation from an established company on the site. They will also be given the chance to explore the area and see the daily activities of the company. This year, the company visit will be in PT. Sarihusada Generasi Mahardhika and PT. Mandiri Andalan Kalasan. 6. Social and Cultural Events: Gala Dinner and Ramayana Ballet

Staying in Yogyakarta has never been enough without visiting the remarkable heritage of Prambanan temple and witnessing the combination of beautiful dances and the famous Ramayana story through Ramayana Ballet. By participating in International Week, students will be having the unique opportunity to experience not only the beautiful scenery of Prambanan temple at night with its lighting attractions, the Ramayana Ballet, but also to enjoy the various selections of delicious Indonesian and International Food.

DRESS CODE Throughout the iWeek 2018 program, participants are suggested to wear casual clothes. However, it is the FEB UGM’s policy that students or anybody wishing to entering the school are not allowed to wear t-shirt, tank top, shorts, and sandals or flip-flop. For Company Visit agenda, the participants are required to wear shoes and shirt. ACCOMMODATION International Week 2018 participants who are not-FEB UGM/UGM students and/or not from Yogyakarta will be staying in Wisma MM UGM. International Week’s participants who are taking accommodation package at Wisma MM are eligible for facilities named below; (1) A hotel room (twin-bed), 22 July - 4 August 2018; (2) Hotel breakfast; (3) Coffee break during event; and (4) Transportation during event. Foreign Currency Exchange During iWeek 2018, the only foreign currency exchange that you can meet is only the one that is at the airport. Beside the one at the airport, there are plenty other options to exchange your money into Indonesian Rupiah. However, reaching this place would require you to arrange individual transportation. At Mulia Money Changer which is located in the Hotel Garuda at Malioboro street, you can find a foreign currency exchange that open nearly 24 hours. Should you bring US Dollar to Indonesia, please be assure that your money is very new, in which it means your money is free from any folded mark and/ or stain(s).

TRANSPORTATION International Week 2018 participants who are not-FEB UGM/UGM students and/or not from Yogyakarta will come by plane or train. For the students who come by plane, we suggest you to use taxi and do ask to drive you to Wisma MM UGM. Wisma MM UGM is generally about 20 minutes by car (7.5km), depending on traffic condition. For the students who come by train, we suggest you to stop at Lempuyangan Station. You can use conventional taxi or online transportation, like Gojek, Grab or the like. It would be less than 10 minutes (2.8km) from Lempuyangan Station to Wisma MM UGM. Electrical Plug/Socket Mains voltage often found in Indonesia is the 220 V, however some are available in 230 V. Common electrical plugs or socket that you can find in Indonesia can be found in the picture provided below: CREDITS AND PROGRAM ASSESSMENT To be eligible for the 3 (three) credits granted by FEB UGM, participated students are required to attend and participate in each of the public lecture, case study sessions, as well as lecture. In providing objective evaluation for the 3 (three) credits granted, students will be evaluated 3 (three) assessment components, i.e.:

a. Reading Assignment (15%) Participants will be given articles to read before the International Week starts.

b. Class Participation and Evaluation (35%) During each lecture session, each lecturer with the assistance of a class-secretary will record each of participants’ active and constructive contributions in the class room.

c. Group Essay and Group Case Presentation (50%) You will be divided into groups and receive a topic on the first day. Topics are assigned to each group through random lottery. The group then will have to perform a case study based on the assigned topics. The case study has to be delivered in form of a Group Essay. The Group Essay will then be presented in front of a panel of reviewers through the Group Case Presentation.

Group Essay should be submitted by email (in PDF format) and print out version to iWeek Secretariat on the last day of iWeek before 10.00am. Please email to [email protected]

Group Case Presentation will be held on the last day. Group Essays will be presented in front of a panel of reviewers who will pose questions and/or feedback to the group and also review the Group Essay. The best group essays will be selected to be submitted to printed media with national or international coverage (i.e. Jakarta Post). Therefore, excellent essays are expected from this assignment.

Grading Criteria and Aspects for: A. Essay

Group essay submitted will be graded based on 5 aspects: 1. Structure Paper should consist of the following structure: Title Page, Introduction, Problem Identification, Analysis, Conclusion, Bibliography, Appendices 2. Analysis The analysis covers: Thoroughness, Focus, Sound argument, Clear points. 3. Written Expression/Arguments

‐ Use clear and precise sentences ‐ Vocabulary used is easy to understand and not too technical ‐ Meaning of argument is not obscured by poor grammar, punctuation,

sentence, paragraphs, and vocabulary ‐ Logical flow of the arguments, argument in one section is based on the

previous section or statement ‐ Coherent argument, present clear links between the different sections of

the paper, leading reader to a justifiable conclusion 

4. Format and Presentation The format of the group essay should follow these guidelines:

‐ Word-processed in Times New Roman, font 12, 1.5 spacing ‐ Word limit: 800 - 900 words or around 5000 characters without spaces ‐ Included in word count: Main text, including in text citations, and quotations ‐ NOT included in word count: Appendices, Title page, tables, figures,

legends, reference list, acknowledgements ‐ Up to 4 pages of appendices ‐ DO: Use graphs, charts and tables; DON’T: make text-extensions 

5. Referencing and Citations ‐ Strictly NO PLAGIARISM! ‐ All materials are correctly referenced ‐ Citations are in Turabian format (as is used by the Faculty of Economics and

Business, UGM) ‐ Direct quotations from sources are referenced with page numbers ‐ Bibliography contains the works cited within the text only ‐ Please refer to the Referencing Handbook on the Faculty’s Website 

Informal Coaching Sessions: To help you carry out your case study and compose your essay, there will be Informal Coaching Sessions in certain times. Any questions, guidance and feedback regarding the essay can be consulted upon in this session.

B. Group Case Presentation Group Case Presentation will be graded based on 5 aspects:

1. Teamwork 2. Communication skills 3. Depth of argumentation 4. Analytical discussion 5. Content
