three options for those intentions requested: 1. Masses will be transferred to the existing masses
unless directed otherwise, 2. Have the stipend returned to you or donate it to the church, 3. Msgr.
Oliveira, director of the Missions in our Diocese, will see to it that the intention and stipend is sent
to a missionary helping the church in the missions. Should you have further concerns or questions,
please call the office.

A Prayer for Fathers
Heavenly Father, We ask You to bless our earthly fathers for the many times they reflected the love, strength, generosity, wisdom and mercy that You exemplify in Your relationship with us, Your children. We honor our fathers for
putting our needs above their own convenience and comfort; for teaching us to show courage and determination in the face of adversity; for challenging us to move beyond self-limiting boundaries; for modeling the qualities that would turn us into responsible, principled, caring adults. We pray that our fathers who have passed into the next life have been welcomed into Your loving embrace, and that our family will one be day be reunited in your heavenly kingdom. Amen.
The Catholic Community of New Bedford North, has scheduled a Memorial Mass in which all those wo have died during the past few months without the benefit of a Funeral Mass will
remembered. This Liturgy does not preclude your opportunity to schedule a celebration for your loved one at another time. This special Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 27th at St. Mary’s. According to current regulations, attendance will be limited to 100 people and registration is required. You will be required to wear a mask or face covering and maintain social distancing norms. In order that the name of your deceased loved one be included in the Mass Intentions and to register for attendance, please forward the information via email to [email protected] or by calling our Collaborative Office at 508-995-3593
Catholic Community of New Bedford North
Parish Leadership Team
Following up on the survey the time has come to create a Leadership Team (PLT) to form and
implement the results of the survey and for a vision of our Collaborative for the future.
The PLT is a group of parishioners along with pastors, deacon and some staff members. The group
will work to identify the most important aspects of parish life for the next 3 years and create a plan
for those focus areas and invite people to help accomplish the goals as outlined in the plan.
Membership will include members from the three parishes and represent different age groups etc. The
team should include people with some of the following talents: activators, strategic thinkers,
initiators, respected in parish, etc. This core team will consist of 8-10 people along with the pastors,
deacon and one or two staff members. Many more parishioners will be involved as the plan is created
and implemented.
The following has been suggested regarding membership role & responsibility:
1. Role
The role of a Parish Leadership Team Member is to help guide the direction of the
Collaborative with the pastors and other team members. Members of the PLT represent all
aspects of parish life, not one individual group, ministry, demographic, or person. The intention
of this team is that they will have a broad view of the Collaborative in mind when formulating
the Collaborative Priority Plan so that the entire collaborative can live out its mission.
2. Responsibilities
A member of the PLT will be present at monthly gatherings at the parish to work through the
survey, evaluate the recommendations, and formulate them for our Collaborative. Meetings in
the first three months will be approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours long on site with you parish coach.
There will be able to be a 1-hour virtual meeting to present the Parish Analysis &
Recommendations before your Parish Coach is on-site again.
Although members of this team are not expected to execute every milestone laid out in the
Collaborative Priority Plan, they are expected to help with new initiatives, gathering current
volunteers, and inviting new people to join the team. Members of the PLT will be the face of
this effort among the Collaborative as they are getting started.
While the PLT will require time and effort, these members will be forming the plan for our Catholic
Community for the future of the Church in the North End of New Bedford. Please pray to the Holy
Spirit to guide you. If your prayer and discernment lead you to identify someone whom you feel could
fulfill the responsibility of a PLT member, please share this information.
Our Plan leaders from Our Sunday Visitor will be contacting us soon to initiate this process so we request that you volunteer or suggest a member for the team by June 29th. Please call 508-995-3593 or mail your name or suggested name along with an email address to Dave Beaulieu [email protected] at the Central Office. Should you have any questions or concerns you can contact Msgr. Oliveira at [email protected]
Thank you for your attention and consideration of this request.

BEARING THE NAME CHRISTIAN”
Prayer to St. Thérèse,
the Little Flower
O Glorious St. Thérèse, whom Almighty
God has raised up to aid and inspire the
human family, I implore your miraculous
intercession. I fervently beseech you to
answer my petition…(here state your
request)...and to carry out your promises of
spending Heaven doing good upon earth.
Little Flower of Jesus, give me your
childlike faith, to see the face of God in all
people and experiences of my life, and to
love God with full confidence. Help me to
always believe, as you did, in God’s great
love for me, so that I might imitate your
“little way” each day. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed,” Jesus tells us
in the Gospel today,
“and nothing hidden that will not become known.” May our
stewardship of God’s gifts be such that we would
not be ashamed if it were seen in the clear light of
day. See Matthew 10:26 (Our Sunday Visitor, ibid., page 11).

Sharing the Gospel
Counting the hairs on your head can get tiresome and confus-
ing. However, God knows exactly how many you have. Your
body works on its own. You do not have to tell your heart to
beat or your lungs to fill with air. Every day your body needs
exercise to make all parts work well. Every day your soul needs
pray-er-cise or talking with God. Pray-er-cise will fill you with
peace and make your fears go away.
Prayer
Thank you for my body and soul, Lord.
