ALEXIA BARRIER Stars in Mediterranean Sea Alexia Barrier, 33 years old is one of the most talented skipper in Offshore racing. An accomplished sailor. Alexia is also a world class racer on Match racing. At 3 years old she starts sailing with her family on a 6 meters boat along the coast of the French Riviera, then race for the first time with her dad in Atlantic sea at 10 years old. At 15 years old Alexia is sailing instructor. In the same time she is studing and will be graduated of sport management. Hard worker she is co-skipper or crew on sailing boat to pay her school. Since then Alexia is a Professional racer and sail all over the world on superyachts and pure racing boats. To Offshore Races After leading the match racing ranking, Alexia wants to face a new challenge, race single handed offshore. She sails with a Mini 6.50, Figaro 2, 60pieds monohull and multihull … Alexia cross Atlantic the first time with the Transat 6.50 single handed in 2005, now the counter is giving 100 000 nautical miles and 14 transatlantic. She is sailing with the best: Peter Holmberg, Florence Arthaud, Luc Poupon, Dennis Conner … Famous Supporters : During this years Alexia won the rescpect and support of famous sportsmen: H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Jean-Michel Bayle, David Ginola, Dennis Conner, Abdelatif Benazzi, Bruno Saby … Program 2014 - 2016 - TransatAg2r : Winning the rookie ranking and giving more visibility to my partners - The Route du Rhum 2014 - The record single handed from New York to San Francisco 2015 - The Vendée Globe 2016

All well known skippers have sailed on Figaro and more than one are coming back in the game of the one design: Michel Desjoyeaux, Franck Cammas, Loïck Peyron, Alain Gautier, Jean Le Cam, Armel Le Cléac’h or François Gabard the winner of the Vendée Globe. The Figaro Class is the most active seie in France and in Europe. You can sometimes have more than 50 boats on a starting line! Figaro Bénéteau 2 is today the only boat offering the skippers such a amazing race at sea on similar boats.

THE RACE 12th EDITION TRANSAT AG2R LA MONDIALE STARTS APRIL THE 6th 2014
This is a unique race, since 20 years double handed crew are competing, rookies or advenced sailors, all on one design boats (Figaro Bénéteau 2).
3890 nautical miles to go. Starts from Concarneau Sunday the 6th, arriving in Saint-Barthélemy, between the 27th and the 28th of april. The boats have to pass a gate in between a buoy on the north of La Palma aux Canaries and the island.
In 2006, Alexia Barrier competes in this race with Sam Davies. Only crew 100% woman they end up 12th on thirty boats.
