Goals of the Federal PartnershipGoals of the Federal Partnership

The partnership between ETA and IMLS pursues two main objectives: Sharing data and information (e.g., locations, LMI,

course offerings) between the workforce system and public libraries and

Publicizing and encouraging successful partnerships at the state and local levels.

Both objectives advance the Secretary of Labor’s goal of Good Jobs for Everyone as well as the acquisition of 21st Century skills, a topic of particular focus for IMLS.

Federal Activities to Date Federal Activities to Date ETA issued TEN 50-09 outlining our partnership and

highlighting promising partnerships

Added library locations to America’s Service Locator (www.servicelocator.org)

ETA and IMLS are disseminating information on the value of workforce-library partnerships on our respective virtual communities of practice (Reemployment Works! and Project Compass), as well as at conferences and other Web sites

IMLS sponsored a nationwide effort to train librarians on employment services through regional workshops for state librarians, development of curricula, online learning and other means
