This map illustrates satellite-detected areas likely affected byflood water in Metro Manila Region and Rizal Province,Philippines, as based on change detection methods usingALOS-PALSAR data acquired over the area on 26 June and26 September 2009. The newly released ASTER globalelevation model (GDEM) was also used in the floodinganalysis. This flood assessment is a preliminary analysis &has not yet been validated in the field.The depiction and use of boundaries, geographic names andrelated data shown here are not warranted to be error-freenor do they imply official endorsement or acceptance by theUnited Nations.
