  • BUT one group of about 14 -16 verbs uses the present tense of Etre instead.MOST verbs use part of Avoir to form the pass compos.Here is that list

  • When the pass compos is formed with Etre, the past participle behaves like an adjective. So, if you have a feminine subject (the doer of the verb), you must also have a feminine past participle.
