Large or small, heavy duty finish or finesse, our lifts are equal to the challenge

Challenge us!
Our passenger lifts provide access in some of the
most surprising places: in cathedrals, on bridges,
in stadia, in airports and railway stations, to name
but a few. Blending new equipment into heritage
sites is a challenge we always enjoy. Wherever
we work, we take care – in all our processes, our
transport, on site, our people and the environment.
Our design engineers relish lifts in unusual places
and are on hand to work with our customers to
develop creative but practical solutions that enhance
their surroundings.
We take pride in every installation; after all, every
one of our products bears our family name.
Challenge us to exceed your expectations.
At Stannah we love a challenge: an out-of-the-ordinary request to provide lifts that solve problems, enhance buildings and above all provide safe, reliable, stylish travel for every passenger.
Our capability may surprise you… Stannah can supply small lifts for low-rise buildings but we can also supply every type and style of passenger lift right up to high-rise, high-speed lifts for iconic buildings.
We like to think of our passenger lifts as one branch of our lift family. It means each element displays our qualities of safety, reliability, great design, advanced technology and high performance but also that you can source all your lifting products from one supplier.
Breadth of our passenger lift range• We can supply lifts for 4-46 persons and up to 3500kg
• Travel up to 48 floors and up to 3.0 m/s but typically
most of our installations require up to 16 stops and
up to 2.0 m/s
• Entrances can be single, through or adjacent
• We supply motor room-less traction lifts, lifts with
traditional motor rooms, lifts with motor room
cabinets for sites with restricted space, and hydraulic
lifts too
• Wall-mounted or structure-supported
Each one of our passenger lifts can be supplied either
individually, or as one of multiple passenger lifts
across major developments, ensuring each one is
suited to its travel, traffic and situation – with finishes
to suit.
Top-class energy efficiency and ride comfortEach component of our passenger lifts is calculated
to contribute to the lift’s overall energy efficiency,
ensure minimal environmental impact and designed
to deliver ride comfort year after year. We can provide
energy calculations, lifts with A-rated energy efficiency
certification in accordance with VDI 4707 or to meet
the BREEAM credit requirements. The result? A range
of eco-efficient lifts that are designed to add real value
to your building and score on comfort, safety and looks.

Total flexibility
Our service is tailored to our customers. We work with consultants and architects to deliver the perfect lift specification; with construction professionals to help deliver a tight project deadline; and existing lift owners to help across their accessibility portfolio. Whatever your particular requirement, you can rely on our engineering expertise to deliver.
Open protocol means no tie-ins
Our open protocol lift control systems mean we
place no restrictions on the ease of maintenance
and future repairs. Our standard passenger lift
range has in-built service diagnostics equipment so
the lift can be maintained by any other lift company
in the future. We don’t restrict our customers in
using us for maintenance or repairs, instead we
make sure we continue to deliver a quality service
that means you choose to stay with us.
Replacement lifts in existing shafts
Depending on traffic and usage, a passenger lift can
have a life of 25 years or more. We can advise on
how best to prolong the life of existing equipment,
equally, if the time comes we can advise when the
most cost-effective solution is to replace with a new,
efficient, modern lift.
We can arrange a site survey to advise on the
best course of action. For lift replacements this is
typically a lift to match your existing shaft, taking
out the current equipment and installing new, with
a choice of us managing the builders’ works or
working with your preferred builder.
Removals
Not a problem. We can remove old unwanted
equipment, with or without replacement.
Flexible finishes
If your requirement is a bare lift car for a
subsequent match to finishes within your building,
we can oblige. Alternatively, our specialist fit-out
teams can help with the finishes of your lift car and
landings to complete all your requirements.
We know things can change: that’s why you can rely on us to deliver a flexible and adaptable approach.

Lifts for special places
We think every lift we install is in a special place, however some sites do have special requirements – and we know we have all the answers.
Our unique FX structure
If your project struggles to accommodate a conventional lift
shaft, or structural loadings are likely to be a problem, then
we can provide an alternative solution. Our steel lift frame
is designed to give ultimate flexibility and reduces both
building time and costs. With thousands of FX structures
installed, this proven technology is particularly well suited
for modular build and timber-framed buildings.
Tough finish, vandal-resistant lifts
Designed for tough environments and truly standing the
test of time, our durable and vandal-resistant finishes are
ideal for Category 1 and 2 vandal-resistant specifications,
or goods/passenger applications. These hardy workhorses
are suited to infrastructure environments where human
traffic is constant; hospitals where beds and goods are
moved frequently; and housing blocks where constant use
needs resilient lift cars to meet the demands, day and night.
Firefighting and evacuation lifts
We help to provide constant peace of mind in medium to
high-rise buildings. Our fire-fighting lifts mean firefighters
can access all areas and our evacuation lifts ensure there
is a means of escape for building occupants if the worst
should happen.
Whatever your requirements, you can rely on Stannah
lifts to provide the answers.

Choosing the correct lift for your needs is no small task, so we recommend that you contact us to discuss your requirements and guide your choice. However, this guide will give you a general overview of the choices available.
Lift selection guide
Lift capacity
Door types and sizes
Lift car entrances
In order to select the right lift car size for your needs, we suggest that the primary consideration is what the lift is to be used for:
High capacity, heavy usage? Shopping trolleys or baggage? Demanding environments? Multiple lifts required?
As standard, lift doors are available in widths of, in millimetres: 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1300, and 1400.
Centre-opening doors can be more aesthetically pleasing, but require a larger lift shaft in some instances.
Side-opening doors are therefore offered as standard on some models as they allow a reduction in lift shaft width.
As standard, car entrances can be configured in single or through-car arrangement. On some lift cars, adjacent entry is also available as an option – please contact us for further information.

Additionally, we pride ourselves on our ability to work with our customers to achieve the very best results. If you would like to explore the possibilities of what can be acheived, please contact us – we’ll be very glad to help!
Hydraulic drive
Electronic hydraulic valve with a choice of machine room less (MRL) or machine room cabinet (MRC).
Hydraulic drives are suitable for short trips and ideal where there are restrictions on headroom or an existing shaft can be used.
Traction drive
Gearless traction drive unit, machine room less (MRL).
Traction drives offer higher speeds and greater travels, making them best suited for heavy use and longer travels.

Engineering excellence for over 150 years
Whether it’s a lift at the station or an escalator at the airport, a dumbwaiter at the coffee shop or a
platform lift at the library, a moving walkway at the supermarket or a goods lift at the pub, a homelift
or stairlift at home – we are there quietly helping life happen.
A lot has happened since Joseph founded the business – yet some things, like making life easier and
more fulfilling for people, remain unchanged.
Dedicated to upholding the highest standards
Of course, every one of our lifts and internal processes has
satisfied and, more often, surpassed every relevant quality
and safety standard in our industry. We will always supply
a quality product that is both reliable and affordable.
Safety is our number one priority and this is reflected in
our nine consecutive health and safety awards from the
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
By continually investing in our systems and our greatest
asset, our people, we can deliver excellence in all areas
of our business.
Our nationwide post-installation local service is delivered
by our own highly trained lift engineers from eleven
different locations across the UK. They can help all our
customers with their responsibilities as lift owners/
managers and can advise on all the latest guidance to
guarantee the safety of their equipment. Stannah also
look after all types of lifts from all manufacturers.
In 1867, Joseph Stannah began engineering lifts and cranes for London’s dock yards. Five generations on, this family-owned, British business still uses its expertise to keep people and goods moving, and remains committed to Joseph’s values of quality and integrity.
