Technical Environment
• Big Bang Go Live Approach of all the projects identified in the
Scope. Detailed planning of individual tasks helped develop a
contingency plan for this.
• Controlling Scope and finalizing the most visible functionalities like
Portal Look and feel, Manager Dashboard, Self service
functionalities etc. were initially a challenge.
• Making the environment(s) available to the employees outside the
network was also a technical challenge.

3) Database Performance: Along with upgrade from Tools 8.52.06 to
8.53.09 we also did database from Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g. We faced
some performance issues
4) PUM application/Update Manager : Application of patches and
selective fixes has become difficult because along with the bug it brings in
all the pre-requisite and post-requisite. If the system has been customized
a bit then in itself becomes a project
5) Activity Guides: Configuration and setting up activity guides was a
challenge

Scope
1) Time and Labor rules: Complex time and labor rules used across North
America, EMEA, APAC approximately 276 rules from 20 countries. The
templates delivered earlier had changed between 9.0 to 9.2 giving
different results.
2) WorkCenters : Work-centers for Talent management , Time and Labor
and ePerformance. We had to do customization and tune SQLs(Custom
and delivered) to get good performance.
