Technology enabled seamless travel
PASSME - Horizon 2020 EU project grant number: 636308
Welcome everybody, who is who ?
PASSME =
Personalised Airport Systems for Seamless Mobility and Experience
AMBITION =
1 hour reduction d2d travel timeenhanced travel experience, reduced stressprovide passengers with real-time information
PASSME BREAKTHOUGHS (1)
Breakthrough 1: a real-time passenger-centric system for managing passenger flows - the development of a passenger-centric monitoring and forecast system builds on different technologies currently under research. The creation of integrated technology solutions for real-time forecasting in airport applications is at TRL 2 and we intend to move towards TRL6.
Breakthrough 2: a passenger independent system for managing luggage flows - the development of a luggage system that reduces the passenger journey time drastically. The luggage pickup and drop off service is in fact TRL6 level as the application is possible now. Only the trust of the passenger coupled to the tracking system is the uncertainty, which is very important as implementation depends on this part. The other part of the luggage flow improvement is much more complex and a demo can be done, but probably not of the whole working system (TRL4-6).
PASSME BREAKTHOUGHS (2)
Breakthrough 3: Radically redesigned passenger-centric airport and airplane processes and interiors - different solutions for airport facilities are being experimented with at TRL 2 and 3. The integration with the personalised device and forecast technology is highly novel, and is therefore considered to be at TRL 1.
Breakthrough 4: a personalised device and smartphone application - although the personalised device is based upon existing tracking and measuring technologies, the application of a contextually and emotionally aware device in an airport environment is a new concept. The personalised device is at TRL 2; the use of physiological data for increasing predictability and saving time is a principle observed to be at TRL 1.
Kick off Community of Practice
The CoP will have the following objectives:
1) Discuss the project’s major findings and seek endorsement 2) Evaluate whether the results match real needs 3) Provide direction to resources and access to end users 4) Help disseminate project findings and activities 5) Assess emerging trends, opportunities, innovations and developing
needs that may affect project concepts. 6) Assess whether to adapt project activities so that needs are met.
