CPR is self-governing, and is a member of the St. Louis Progressive M.B. District Association. Our church exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lead souls to salvation as empowered by the Holy Spirit through worship, fellowship, prayer, teaching God’s word and providing service to the community. We are looking for a leader who is immersed in biblical principles, models a healthy prayer life, and practices scripture-based preaching. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a pastor, you are responsible to the Lord and the congregation to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to preach and teach biblical revelation. The pastor should also possess strong administrative leadership with the ability to facilitate a well-developed vision of growth for the church body. The CPR Church is seeking a pastor who will manage the operations of the church in collaboration with ministers, deacons, and ministry leaders through coaching, delegation, and leading of the Holy Spirit. The Pastor’s duties will be to: Serve as lead facilitator and/or provide counsel and direction to the Ministerial staff in planning and conducting worship services, prayer services, and bible studies Prepare and deliver sermons, perform weddings and funerals as necessary Possess and foster a gregarious nature that will encourage participation in members of all ages and enhance church growth Moderate church business meetings, trustee meetings, and deacon meetings Actively support church auxiliaries and other ministries within the church through regular attendance to their special events, programs, and ceremonies Actively advocate for the overall financial health of the church through supporting and/or developing programs and strategies of a positive agenda Provide direction and leadership to the ministers and laypersons who evangelize, witness to the community, and visit the sick and homebound Be available to give wise counsel in family, marriage, relationships, grief, & spiritual development Develop, plan, and facilitate training opportunities that promote spiritual development for church officers, ministry leaders, deacons, and ministers QUALIFICATIONS: Must be called by God and exemplify the characteristics outlined in 1Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9 Must be licensed and ordained in the Baptist faith Possess the heart and wisdom of a servant-leader Oratorically skilled in evangelism, preaching, and teaching Seminary training or theology education from an accredited college or university required Minimum 5-10 years pastoral experience required (may include time as assistant/associate pastor) Must prove to be financially independent and stable, preferably bi-vocational with sustainable income from other professional or personal source(s) Must be willing to submit to background screenings as petitioned by the search committee HOW TO APPLY To maintain confidentiality, packets will only be accepted at the email address or P.O. The Christ’s Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of St. Louis, Missouri, hereafter referred to as CPR, is prayerfully seeking a pastor. CPR is self-governing, and is a member of the St. Louis Progressive M.B. District Association. This review may be through a third party consumer/investigative report or through CPR's own investigation. I understand the scope of this review may include but is not limited to the following areas: verification of Social Security number; current and previous residences; employment history, including all personnel files; education references; criminal history, including records from any criminal justice agency in any or all federal, state or county jurisdictions; birth records; motor vehicle records, including traffic citations and registration; credit history; child abuse and neglect; and any other public records.
