Tercer Domingo de Adviento El tercer domingo de Adviento tiene un nombre especiacutefico Domingo de Gaudete Recibe ese nombre por la primera palabra en latiacuten de la antiacutefona de entrada que dice Gaudeacutete in Domino semper iacuteterum dico gaudeacutete (Estad siempre alegres en el Sentildeor os lo repito estad alegres) La antiacutefona estaacute tomada de la carta paulina a los filipenses ( Flp 4 4-5) que sigue diciendo Dominus prope este (el Sentildeor estaacute cerca) Y efectivamente en este tercer domingo que marca la mitad del Adviento la llegada del Sentildeor se ve cercana Cuando nos acercamos a la celebracioacuten del Nacimiento de Jesuacutes la palabra de Dios nos recuerda coacutemo las profeciacuteas han sido ya cumplidas que estamos en lo que los teoacutelogos llaman el ya pero todaviacutea no
El Domingo de Gaudete por lo tanto hace un alto como el Domingo del Laetare (IV de Cuaresma) a medio camino a traveacutes de un tiempo que de otra manera es de caraacutecter penitencial y significa la cercaniacutea de la venida del Sentildeor De las estaciones que se mantienen en Roma para representar los cuatro domingos de Adviento la correspondiente a la basiacutelica Vaticana se le asigna al Gaudete ya que es el maacutes importante de los cuatro domingos
Por ese motivo en este domingo los signos penitenciales que moderadamente se dan en Adviento hoy se eliminan Se deben poner maacutes flores sonar la muacutesica y como maacutes caracteriacutestico se pueden usar vestiduras de color rosado Loacutegicamente si el templo o parroquia no dispone de ese color se usa el propio del tiempo o sea el morado
El Domingo de Gaudete estaacute marcado por un Nuevo Invitatorio la Iglesia no invita ya a los fieles meramente a adorar al Sentildeor que va a venir sino que les llama a una liturgia de alegriacutea porque el Sentildeor estaacute ahora aquiacute y al alcance de la mano La alegriacutea de la espera se enfatiza por las constantes Aleluyas tanto en el Oficio como en la Misa a traveacutes de todo el Adviento La Epiacutestola tomada de la primera carta del apoacutestol san Pablo a los Tesalonicenses (5 16-24) nos incita a regocijarnos ldquoHermanos Vivan siempre alegresrdquo y nos urge a prepararnos para encontrarnos con el Salvador a traveacutes de
oraciones y suacuteplicas y de acciones de gracia mientras que el Evangelio de Juan (1 6-8 19-28) nos habla del Bautista y nos advierte que el Cordero de Dios estaacute ahora entre nosotros aunque parezca que no le conocemos ldquoHubo un hombre enviado por Dios que se llamaba Juanrdquo

Welcome to the Third Sunday of Advent All of parish life and our own lives can seem very busy during this time of the year Two of the busiest times of the year are AdventChristmas and LentEaster We invite and welcome you as we begin this season of Advent to participate in the Advent Season Join us for daily mass in the Little Church As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Baby Jesus take some quiet time to attend mass attend a Monday Night of ReflectionWorship at
700 PM in the Little Church and receive Godrsquos mercy and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation
Daily Mass and Snow Policy Now that we are in the winter months let us reiterate our snow policy with regard to daily Mass If Baltimore County Schools are closed due to inclement weather then daily Masses are canceled If Baltimore County Schools are one or two hours late then the 700 AM Mass is canceled but the 900 AM Mass will be celebrated as usual This will allow our maintenance crew time to clear the parking lots and sidewalks In any event use your best judgment God would rather you be safe than come to daily Mass in bad weather

Tercer Domingo de Adviento El tercer domingo de Adviento tiene un nombre especiacutefico Domingo de Gaudete Recibe ese nombre por la primera palabra en latiacuten de la antiacutefona de entrada que dice Gaudeacutete in Domino semper iacuteterum dico gaudeacutete (Estad siempre alegres en el Sentildeor os lo repito estad alegres) La antiacutefona estaacute tomada de la carta paulina a los filipenses ( Flp 4 4-5) que sigue diciendo Dominus prope este (el Sentildeor estaacute cerca) Y efectivamente en este tercer domingo que marca la mitad del Adviento la llegada del Sentildeor se ve cercana Cuando nos acercamos a la celebracioacuten del Nacimiento de Jesuacutes la palabra de Dios nos recuerda coacutemo las profeciacuteas han sido ya cumplidas que estamos en lo que los teoacutelogos llaman el ya pero todaviacutea no
El Domingo de Gaudete por lo tanto hace un alto como el Domingo del Laetare (IV de Cuaresma) a medio camino a traveacutes de un tiempo que de otra manera es de caraacutecter penitencial y significa la cercaniacutea de la venida del Sentildeor De las estaciones que se mantienen en Roma para representar los cuatro domingos de Adviento la correspondiente a la basiacutelica Vaticana se le asigna al Gaudete ya que es el maacutes importante de los cuatro domingos
Por ese motivo en este domingo los signos penitenciales que moderadamente se dan en Adviento hoy se eliminan Se deben poner maacutes flores sonar la muacutesica y como maacutes caracteriacutestico se pueden usar vestiduras de color rosado Loacutegicamente si el templo o parroquia no dispone de ese color se usa el propio del tiempo o sea el morado

Daily Mass and Snow Policy Now that we are in the winter months let us reiterate our snow policy with regard to daily Mass If Baltimore County Schools are closed due to inclement weather then daily Masses are canceled If Baltimore County Schools are one or two hours late then the 700 AM Mass is canceled but the 900 AM Mass will be celebrated as usual This will allow our maintenance crew time to clear the parking lots and sidewalks In any event use your best judgment God would rather you be safe than come to daily Mass in bad weather

Tercer Domingo de Adviento El tercer domingo de Adviento tiene un nombre especiacutefico Domingo de Gaudete Recibe ese nombre por la primera palabra en latiacuten de la antiacutefona de entrada que dice Gaudeacutete in Domino semper iacuteterum dico gaudeacutete (Estad siempre alegres en el Sentildeor os lo repito estad alegres) La antiacutefona estaacute tomada de la carta paulina a los filipenses ( Flp 4 4-5) que sigue diciendo Dominus prope este (el Sentildeor estaacute cerca) Y efectivamente en este tercer domingo que marca la mitad del Adviento la llegada del Sentildeor se ve cercana Cuando nos acercamos a la celebracioacuten del Nacimiento de Jesuacutes la palabra de Dios nos recuerda coacutemo las profeciacuteas han sido ya cumplidas que estamos en lo que los teoacutelogos llaman el ya pero todaviacutea no
El Domingo de Gaudete por lo tanto hace un alto como el Domingo del Laetare (IV de Cuaresma) a medio camino a traveacutes de un tiempo que de otra manera es de caraacutecter penitencial y significa la cercaniacutea de la venida del Sentildeor De las estaciones que se mantienen en Roma para representar los cuatro domingos de Adviento la correspondiente a la basiacutelica Vaticana se le asigna al Gaudete ya que es el maacutes importante de los cuatro domingos
Por ese motivo en este domingo los signos penitenciales que moderadamente se dan en Adviento hoy se eliminan Se deben poner maacutes flores sonar la muacutesica y como maacutes caracteriacutestico se pueden usar vestiduras de color rosado Loacutegicamente si el templo o parroquia no dispone de ese color se usa el propio del tiempo o sea el morado

Welcome to the Third Sunday of Advent All of parish life and our own lives can seem very busy during this time of the year Two of the busiest times of the year are AdventChristmas and LentEaster We invite and welcome you as we begin this season of Advent to participate in the Advent Season Join us for daily mass in the Little Church As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Baby Jesus take some quiet time to attend mass attend a Monday Night of ReflectionWorship at

Daily Mass and Snow Policy Now that we are in the winter months let us reiterate our snow policy with regard to daily Mass If Baltimore County Schools are closed due to inclement weather then daily Masses are canceled If Baltimore County Schools are one or two hours late then the 700 AM Mass is canceled but the 900 AM Mass will be celebrated as usual This will allow our maintenance crew time to clear the parking lots and sidewalks In any event use your best judgment God would rather you be safe than come to daily Mass in bad weather

Daily Mass and Snow Policy Now that we are in the winter months let us reiterate our snow policy with regard to daily Mass If Baltimore County Schools are closed due to inclement weather then daily Masses are canceled If Baltimore County Schools are one or two hours late then the 700 AM Mass is canceled but the 900 AM Mass will be celebrated as usual This will allow our maintenance crew time to clear the parking lots and sidewalks In any event use your best judgment God would rather you be safe than come to daily Mass in bad weather

Please select an ornament or several from one of the decorated Christmas Trees
and return the items unwrapped with the identifying ornament securely attached
preferably with scotch tape Gifts will be collected on December 1617
Early return of gifts will be appreciated to facilitate distribution to the various agencies
some of which will give out gifts at holiday parties
Respect Life Committee Seeks New Members
As we celebrate our Savior coming to us as a precious new born baby the Sacred Heart
Respect Life Committee invites you to join us for a rosary for life and planning meeting
on Thursday December 28 in Room 112 We will pray a rosary for life from 630 ndash
700 PM and the planning meeting will take place from 700 ndash 800 PM We welcome

Americas First Cathedral
Experience one of Americarsquos most historic houses of worship and a masterpiece of
American architecture Built from 1806-1821 the Basilica reopened in November 2006

March for Life in Washington DC
The annual March for Life in Washington will be on Friday January 19 2018 and
Sacred Heart Parish will again be sponsoring a bus to the march The bus will leave from
the Little Church parking lot after the 900 AM Mass and will return
around 600 PM There is no charge for the bus Please reserve your seat
