Spirit Matters

Spring has sprung! Everywhere I look I see

nature exploding in full bloom...

and it is wonderful! I guess that old saying;

"April showers bring May flowers" carries much

truth!

As we move from May into June, we also

approach another of the great truths of the Church—that marvelous

festival known as PENTECOSTPENTECOST; a time when the church exploded into

"full bloom" as the Holy Spirit was poured into the hearts and lives of the

people of that day.

The Church was truly “born” on that Pentecost Day and, thank God, it

has continued to blossom and grow to this day.

It’s my vision that we continue to be that CHURCH… a church that

continues to explode with God’s renewing and empowering love…

Remember, the Church was never meant to continue apart from the very

POWER SOURCE that gave it life and vitality!

As the very people of God, may we stay firmly rooted and connected to

that power source, that our Lord’s resurrecting power continue to surge

thru our hearts and lives so that we too, would blossom and grow filled

with God’s empowering love!

It is my prayer that our lives, and the life of the Church, continue to

move in ever-increasing ways into the flow of God's current... the very

River of God!

Celebrating the Easter and Pentecost seasons with you…

From Lisa Skelley:

A very ladylike “thank you” to ALL the lovely ladies who helped with ALL of the preparation for the Ladies’ Tea: MJ Petersen, Marjorie Joy, Cathy Biggs, Nancy Watson, Doris MacGregor, Cindy Lundquist, Margaret Zamorano, Linda Schumitzky and Joyce Raichel. These ladies rock (in a ladylike way, of course.) And many thanks to everyone who donated yummy baked goods for the Ladies’ Tea.

THANK YOU also to: Terry Grimm, John Zeigler and Mark Kleinman for putting a roof on our alley storage shed. Lots

of hard work and a few band-aids later—we appreciate the hard work there, fellas! Erna Guy for diligent yard sale pricing. You’re the best, Erna. Doris MacGregor for HOURS of yard sale help—the Youth and I appreciate you so much, Doris! Johna Miller and Beverly O’Brien for being the Best Sunday School Teachers Ever. We have a

lucky bunch of Sunday Schoolers here at Grace.
