Program goals
To enhance student learning, enrichstudents’ curriculum, promote school improvement
To provide an opportunity for interested community members to become directly involved with the educational process
To help school personnel with non-instructional tasks, projects
To strengthen school-community relations
The bottom line – these are EDUCATIONAL partnerships – they should always support student achievement.
2
Partner vs. Sponsor
A Volusia “Partnership” is a relationship; is actively maintained throughout
the school year; supports teaching and learning through
a variety of activities throughout the school year; may focus on student performance, family involvement, workforce
readiness, and/or the learning environment; and is based on the needs of the school.
A “sponsor” provides a one-time donation. They should be officially thanked, but do not require a partnership.
THINK QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY.
