yogena cittasya padena vācā ṁmala śar īrasya ca vaidyakenaṁ

yopākarotta pravara munīnāṁ ṁ ṁ

 pa tañja li pr āñ ja li rānato’smi ṁ

ābāhu puras  ṣākāraṁ

śa kha cakrāsi dhārin  ṣamṅ

sahasra śi rasa śvetaṁ ṁ

 pr an  ṣamāmi patañjalim

 

I bow with folded hands to Patanjali, best of sages,

who removed the impurities of the mind through yoga;

[the impurities] of the speech through grammar;[ the impurities] of the body through medicine.

Him whose upper body has a human form,

who holds a conch and cara !disc weapon",

who is white and has a thousand heads,

that Patanjali I worship.
