I. Liquefaction. At the beginning of 2004, there were 15 LNG liquefaction plants worldwide with 67 operational trains.1 The 12 LNG exporting countries are as follows: Indonesia, Algeria, Malaysia, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, Australia, Brunei, Oman, Abu Dhabi, U.S. and Libya.2 In the U.S., there are about 55 peak shaving plants in operation and one base load plant at Kenai, Alaska.
