Students are encouraged to learn by completing real-world projects. We've been working on turning ideas into reality for the past year and a half. More than 40 students forged new ideas and projects, which resulted in the creation of 16 new initiatives and the holding of nine events. We desire to bring a change being the change!

During this pandemic crisis, where safety is the first priority, we bring a smart contactless thermometer, which senses, records and alerts if the person exceeds threshold conditions. This module has been made simpler by sensing the temperature when the user scan their IDs. The detected temperature is stored and monitored in the database that is integrated with the organization's ERP. This device works on an ESP8266 board with sensors, that record temperatures and identify the person.

Open Cloud

As the name suggests it is a cloud platform that is being designed to help host software solutions that are built by you. You can build, run and manage applications across our nodes, on-premises and at the edge, with the tools and frameworks of your choice. Hardware older than 15 years was collected from scrap, assembled and modifications were done both at the hardware and software levels to run modern operating systems and applications.

Project Pager

The Pager Project aims to connect a large group of people locally along with basic security. Communication with Pager can be quick and easy to setup. A decentralized communication platform, the “Pager Network”, is being developed for the Pagers to ensure e2e encrypted services between them.

The ERP at LICET is a web portal with three key modules that help the institute's administration, teachers, and students. The marks module allows professors to easily upload, update, and view their students' grades. It maintains the track of the students' internals on a regular basis. The Certificate module helps the organizers to generate and distribute certificates easily. The attendance modules are useful for the faculty members to track the attendance of the students. The modules are built with PHP and a MYSQL database.

Project Cortex is a Pattarai ERP Suite with IAM, HRM, CRM and project management features that manages and organizes each member's day-to-day activities alongside increasing the efficiency of the club. It features an intuitive design and incorporates modules like attendance, events and rating. These modules help the club become more organized and positive, as well as start a healthy competition in showcasing the members' performance. The project is built on a ReactJS front-end, a Python Flask back-end, and a MySQL database.

Project Miles

A smart Public Bike Sharing system within the campus will have bicycles that are stationed in strategic locations within the campus to ensure maximum reach and convenience. These bicycles will be complemented by an app that can be used to reserve bicycles in prior, lock/unlock the bicycle and view the distance covered along with a leaderboard to promote competitive fitness. An in-built wallet along with the provision to recharge your account within the app will ensure seamless, secure, and contactless payments.

Stretch Inc

Stretch Inc is a UK - based fitness company offering assisted stretch services across London. The client desired to increase the slots per hour usage while ensuring business growth. So we made this web app to book slots with slot suggestions for alternate timings, a complete coupon system, a slot gifting system & an interactive UI for selecting body anatomy for selective assists. The app is coupled with an admin platform to manage schedules, stretch assistants, locations and profiles. The project is built on a PHP front-end, a Python Flask back-end, a MySQL database and Google Firebase for Authentication.

Pattarai's workshops and learning sessions were formerly organized and conducted solely through Discord and YouTube. But this online platform will be integrated with Pattarai's hands-on workshops, self-paced guided projects, expert-led training, and various courses on different disciplines. Users can sign up for any courses/workshops to learn various topics and also gain professional certifications on completion. The frontend works on React JS, and the backend on Python Flask.

Flutter Workshop

An 11-day workshop on building cross-platform apps with Flutter was taught by Pon Rahul. The attendees were trained in mobile app development, starting from static apps to more complex styles and techniques, ultimately building their very own application.

Web Dev

Daniel Mark conducted a 5 day Web development workshop in which the students were taught various web development frameworks like Bootstrap without compromising the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. With the acquired inputs attendees have learnt to develop and host their own websites.

The Design Bootcamp gave the participants an opportunity to learn design aesthetics and technical courses that cover various design softwares and UI/UX prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD. The Bootcamp was conducted by Mark Gerald, Fabian Ferno, Abijesh Euphrine and Jonathan Ryndolf.

Design Bootcamp

A 3-day virtual bootcamp on the fundamentals of computer architecture and Python programming was conducted to help students have a smooth transition from school to college from an engineering perspective, under guidance of Pon Rahul and Fabian Ferno.

A virtual treasure hunt with 50 teams including 150 participants was an initiative by Pattarai to prove “learning is fun". By applying programming fundamentals, chemistry, physics and mathematics, teams of 3 students solved and searched for different clues across the Internet and our social platforms. The hunt lasted for 4 hours.

INTACTO 2020

THEERVU 2020

“Theervu 2020”, an inter-college hackathon was conducted to bring lives to the innovations of our budding engineers. The theme was “Use technology to help unorganized sector”. 3 winners were chosen out of the 14 teams by 7 judges from various fields after the run of 48 hours working on their prototypes.

OUR

INCENTIVES

23

InternshipBased on the requirements of the club or certain project we recruit interns. Nineteen interns have worked with us so far and 4 of them were recruited in the crew.

LearnZeitA group session to share knowledge and thoughts about a topic, that is open to anyone who has interest and curiosity. The discussion mainly focuses on exchange of thoughts, opinions & queries between the audience and the speaker. We look out for creative and innovative content, not narrowing it down to any particular stream be it technical or non-technical.

Page 25: pattarai brochures final draft

24

CollabsConnections are one among our priorities. We focus in expanding our community by initiating new

collaborations. One such effort was the

collab with “The Project Team”, a tech club from

SRM. We aim to form a tech community among various

tech clubs around the globe.

Mentorship ProgramTwo mentees are assigned to a student mentor who are dedicated in nurturing their mentees. Apart from guiding, our Mentors also care for their mentees and help them in their

overall skill development and assist their growth. This mutual learning benefits everyone and creates

hype in the learning environment. Our previous mentorship was a 118-day

program, which included 44 mentees and 21 mentors, where

each mentee showcased their engineering and design skills.
