1 Globalisation has been a force for change in so many ways for so many people. 2 It has given them access to information and improved their lives, and has given global mobility to skilled workers. 3 Fair trade has the ability to lift people out of poverty. 4 It creates a level playing field and allows countries across the world to share their best products, goods and services. 5 Many workers in developing countries now have employment because of globalisation. 6 Globalisation benefits all nations by increasing competitiveness and efficiency.

1 Globalisation benefits everyone, 2 including people in developing countries. 3 It allows me personally to work from home in the UK with clients and colleagues all over the world. 4 Globalisation isn’t just benefiting big corporations. 5 It also benefits small businesses like my own. 6 Technology and cheap transport mean I can compete with large corporations who used to have a monopoly on faraway markets.

1Globalization is definitely about progress. 2It leads to better products, which are more cost effective to produce and therefore cheaper for everyone. 3Globalisation also connects people by means of communication and offers them new opportunities for travel, work and education. 4It means a faster rate of development for the whole world. 5Many countries have benefited from investment as a result of globalisation.

1 Globalisation’s only good for those who are already economically strong. 2 It’s big multinational companies who really benefit, 3 and it really worries me that sometimes they seem to have more power and influence over our lives than elected governments. 4 Some of them are actually richer than whole countries, which must be a bad thing.

1 Globalisation ‘s definitely made the world smaller, 2 but I don’t think it’s a fairer place. 3 I think it has benefits for developed world consumers, 4 but not for workers in poor countries. 5 It often means things like child labour and other abuses of human rights. 6 There are some benefits 7 but they are not evenly distributed. 8

It’s contributed to the gap between the rich and the poor. 9

Globalisation exploits the poor and has no respect for local cultures.
