1 Globalisation has been a force for change in so many ways for so many people. 2 It has given them access to information and improved their lives, and has given global mobility to skilled workers. 3 Fair trade has the ability to lift people out of poverty. 4 It creates a level playing field and allows countries across the world to share their best products, goods and services. 5 Many workers in developing countries now have employment because of globalisation. 6 Globalisation benefits all nations by increasing competitiveness and efficiency.

1 Globalisation’s only good for those who are already economically strong. 2 It’s big multinational companies who really benefit, 3 and it really worries me that sometimes they seem to have more power and influence over our lives than elected governments. 4 Some of them are actually richer than whole countries, which must be a bad thing.

1 Globalisation ‘s definitely made the world smaller, 2 but I don’t think it’s a fairer place. 3 I think it has benefits for developed world consumers, 4 but not for workers in poor countries. 5 It often means things like child labour and other abuses of human rights. 6 There are some benefits 7 but they are not evenly distributed. 8

It’s contributed to the gap between the rich and the poor. 9

Globalisation exploits the poor and has no respect for local cultures.
