Dear Saint Vincent de Paul School families,
I hope to see you at the church picnic and open house this Sunday from 12-2. Join us for food and a tour of the church and school.
Mrs. Salamon
FENCE Great news! The main fence has been repaired and the students are enjoying outside recess. We are still working with city officials to have guard rails placed in front of the playground fence
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL FEAST DAY September 27th. In honor of our patron saint who is known for charity, we are requesting our students bring a canned good to present to the altar at our Friday school mass on September 27th. The canned goods will be donated to our Ladies Auxiliary who provide food for the needy in our community. Thank you.
CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support St. Vincent De Paul School. Come in to the Chipotle at 825 W Market Ave. in Akron on Tuesday, September 24th between 5:00pm and 9:00pm. Bring the attached flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to St. Vincent De Paul School.
VISITING AUTHOR Monday, September 30th we welcome Kevin Frank author of the Scurvy Dogs series. He will share his books with our students and give tips in how to create novels. Thank you to the Parent Association for providing this opportunity to our students.
AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY The parent Association is providing the opportunity for our students to attend after-school enrichment programs in October. Please review the attached information.
MAP TESTING MAP is a computer adaptive standardized test which our students take in the fall, winter and spring. The results provide teachers with information to help them deliver appropriate content for each student and determine each student's academic growth over time. Testing continues until September 27.
CAFETERIA For your awareness, our school is following the National School Lunch Program Standards. All students must preregister for lunch at the beginning of the week. In following these standards we are no longer able to provide free seconds.
WHEN TO KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME Our Family Handbook states: If your child has been vomiting, diarrhea, a sore throat, earache, a heavy discharge from the nose, skin rash, eye infections, or an elevated temperature of 100 degrees or above, he or she should be at home. Temperature must be normal, without medication, for 24 hours, and there must be no vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.
CYO INFORMATION It is time to sign-up for winter sports. See the attached flyer.
