Academic Tips
What are some of the biggest differences?
● The workload is greater/more challenging.
● Grades towards GPA and post-high school plans start now.
● Plan on at least 1.5 to 2 hours of homework/studying per night.
● Students should be doing homework the night that is assigned.
● Don’t be afraid to ask for help. It is all manageable if you stay on top of it. There is always work to be done.
● Minimum grade to pass a class is 65%. There is no promotion to the next grade level without passing the class for high school credit.
Academic Tips
Extra Help/Tutoring
Advisement
● Extra help is available for each student during an Advisement Block from 10:45-11:17 am
● It is expected that students are working on schoolwork during this time● Students need a presigned pass from that teacher to attend their advisement
Peer Tutoring
● Student is linked up with a peer during advisement in the library● Student needs to fill out paperwork with counselor and request a tutor ● Regular attendance is necessary to be considered for Peer Tutoring
