Flip Flops Needed!Once school begins, students will likely
be wearing sandals/flip flops that occasionally break at school. It is easier to give them a pair of flip flops instead of calling a parent to bring a pair of shoes.
Please help by donating flip flops (especially adult sizes for
the older students)
Thank you!!!

Important Message: Car Rider Line Safety
Parents: In the morning as you approach the car rider line, it is very important that you pull your vehicle all the way forward to the front of the line (end of sidewalk near the bus lot) before stopping to let your child/ children out. Some students prefer to enter at the front of the building, while others prefer the
side entrance. However, for safety reasons, everyone must pull up all the way forward and once the line stops moving, then your
child needs to exit your vehicle.
Also, all visitors must be buzzed into the front door and then sign in at the front office to get a visitor badge before
proceeding down either hallway.
Thank you in advance for helping to keep our students safe by following our safety procedures.
Staff Spotlight for MarchMrs. Biggers – Assistant Teacher
Hometown: Salisbury, NC
Favorite restaurant: Anything Mexican
College: UNC-Charlotte - BA in Economics
City you would like to visit: Belfast, Ireland
Favorite sport/team to watch: Carolina Panthers, ECU and Alabama
Name of your favorite elementary school teacher: Sister Maureen, Sacred Heart Elementary
How long have you worked at Fairview: I started volunteering when my son was here - about 10 years ago. I've since worked at a substitute teacher, one on one tutor, temporary, part-time and now full-time.
Why you became an assistant teacher: I have always enjoyed working with children and learning who they are as individuals. It was always hard for me to turn my children over to another adult for so much time of the day as well as their life but I learned quickly that they were loved and respected here at Fairview. I wanted to be a part of that. I want to be one of those teachers that a student will remember either for just acting crazy and having fun with them or even just sitting down with them one on one to ask how their day is going or caring about what is going on in their life.
Favorite thing to do when not at school: Work at the house on projects with my husband, John. Travel with family and friends
Silliest fact about you: I have 12 chickens. When they were delivered as chicks I kept them in the house. One day I came home and found some of them running around the house...Mr. John decided very quickly that they were finally big enough to be put outside in the coop.
Most rewarding part about being an assistant teacher: The hugs!
