  • It’s HERE! Summer is finally

    here!

With the passing of the Memo-

    rial Day Holiday weekend,

    comes that unofficial start of

    the summer season.

Before I go any further, I want

to take a moment to remember

    those who gave the ultimate

    sacrifice in service to their

country. I want to thank them

    and their families for sacrificing

so much to protect our free-

    doms and country. Thank you!

Despite the fact that we also

    celebrate Veteran’s Day later in

the year, I also want to take a

moment to thank each and eve-

ry one of our veterans who will-

    ing served our country! Final-

ly, I want to thank all those cur-

    rently serving in the military

and their families for the very

same things. You all deserve all

    our thanks and respect. Thank

    you all!

This month check out the calen-

dar of events for June’s events.

Stan Farlow will let us know in

    the June meeting where the

club will be and we want to

show up in force as often as

    possible!

But don’t forget that we’ve also

got our very own 29th Annual

    Indian Uprising on June 23.

  • The Schaeffer's went to Auctions America, formerly known as the R&M, in Fort Lauderdale on March 22-24, 2013.

There were 550 cars offered for sale. Attached are a few pictures of GTO's up for auction. The full inventory is available

for viewing at auctionsamerica.com (in Auction Results section). Sales were excellent. The nice cars went for big mon-

ey and the average cars went were you would expect them. It was amazing to me how many cars that were supposed to

be restored to original yet were not. The had the wrong wheels, wrong cylinder head casting numbers, incorrect detail-

    ing, etc.

May 11th. After meeting about 10 a.m. at Canal Winchester, our group consisting of Pam and Stan Farlow, Jeff

and Jane Frazier, Bill and Karen Sigg and Brent Barham, cruised on down Route 33 to Hocking County. The Far-

lows were the only ones brave enough to bring out their vintage GTO. The Fraziers and Siggs drove their

2006's. It never really rained, but there was a good bit of drizzle for part of the trip. We joined a surprisingly

large number of other visitors enjoying the trails and views at Old Man's Cave. The weather improved by mid-

day, when we enjoyed our picnic lunch. The rest of our trip was spent visiting an antique shop and thoroughly

enjoying the miles of winding roads.

Our 29th Annual Indian Uprising will be on June 23 at Haydocy! Information is below in the flyer section of

your Paw Prints and in the Club Meeting Minutes. We ask any and all members to come early to help to en-

sure our show is executed successfully! If you want to pre-register your car, contact Jim Evans.

Club Cruise Calendar: Stan Farlow continues to work on a Club Cruise Calendar where we can set some

events to attend or cruise as a club at least a couple times a month. Starting this month, it is now part of

the Paw Prints’ Calendar of Events. See the Calendar below for dates this month. Contact Stan if you are

interested in going to any of the events! Kevin Russo will continue to post weekly shows on our website in

    the Local Forum.

2013 is the year of the second GTOAA/POCI Co-Vention in Dayton at the Nutter Center. Many club members

are planning on attending. Get your hotel reservations in early if you want to stay close to the show. Host

hotel room block (with the co-vention group rate) and the hotel next door are sold out (regular rooms may

still be available). Host hotel is the Holiday Inn again. Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn are

very close and Residence Inn is relatively close. Come to the next club meeting to find out who is going

when and where they are staying.

If you need to renew or are thinking of renewing your GTOAA membership, please do so to ensure our club

remains a valid GTOAA chapter with all the benefits of that status. There is an is an application in your Paw

Prints below and the GTOAA can now take membership applications on line. You will need to be an active

GTOAA member to register for the Co-Vention!
