new, which remains forever! 12 Since this new way gives us such confi-dence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was des-tined to fade away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. 16 But when-ever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glori-ous image.
Moses wore a veil to protect the people from the glory. The illumina-tion was frightening to those who had not yet experienced the illumi-nation.
The church now operates in the new way of the spirit. We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory (vs.13).
The Spirit of the Lord cannot be veiled! Jesus told us to let this light shine. The church is the light of the world and we don’t hide or veil this light ... bold illumination.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)14 “You are the light of the world—
like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
The Apostle Paul tells us that Satan is actively working against the illumination of God. Satan wants to keep the light hidden behind the veil, blinding people and keeping them in the darkness. Sometimes it looks safe in the darkness, but that
darkness is the enemy and absence of light.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NLT)3 If the Good News we preach is
hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Today’s [message] is not a covert attempt to influence people to wear or not wear a mask during this COVID-19 pandemic.
No, my message today is not covert at all. I’m warning everyone, every-where to seek after and operate under the illumination of the spirit while there is time, because the darkness is approaching at great speed. The darkness is Satan’s attempt to veil the illumination, but the spirit of Christ cannot be veiled.
1 Peter 2:6-9 (NLT)6 As the Scriptures say, “I am plac-
ing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, cho-sen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 7 Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” 8 And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
Maranatha, Hosanna, Hallelujah and Amen
