PAYG Solutions is a UK technology company developing and implementing m-solutions in emerging markets across the globe.• What is an m-solution?

– It is a technology application that brings economic and social benefits to the underserved and the disadvantaged in developing countries.

– It uses the mobile phone to change the dynamics of interaction both for individuals and businesses: our solutions encompass the MFI, m-Agriculture, m-Remittance, m-Logistics, and m-Health sectors.

• How are we distinctive?– We want our m-solutions to help meet as many different types of need as possible, and

not be constrained by limited horizons or traditional thinking.– We focus therefore not simply on mobile technology but on providing the central core

system that controls and binds together the transaction process as a whole.– Our product platform – kopesha – is thus not one application but many: it can be easily

adapted to fit virtually any requirement where people are transacting – money, goods, information.

– It is both a core management application and a distributed mobile handset application.– It functions not only at the transaction level but – crucially – provides a control hierarchy above this,

meaning that whole business processes can be brought on board.• Configurable

– It has been designed to be customisable to meet many different solution requirements, but to retain the same easy-to-use appearance and features.

– It can reflect different conditions on the ground – for example by handling both real-time and batch transactions.

– Its industry standard architecture means that interfaces to other applications, such as mobile money and PoS devices, are easily constructed and installed.

• Secure– The core application is cloud-based, offering proven levels of security and robustness including site

certification, encryption, and automatic fail-over.– It provides built-in levels of management control via log-in permissions, identity details, and PIN

numbers.

PAYG SOLUTIONSSome of our Stories

We have several implementations running in Kenya, including pilot schemes to allow farmers to borrow against their milk and coffee produce, and buy goods from Agro-merchants using their produce as collateral.

We have engaged in a collaborative project with a US-based organisation to provide a goods consignment solution for Guatemala; this will support the development of micro entrepreneurs. In the longer term this project also aims to develop an innovative educational platform that can be deployed internationally.

As a pro bono project for Each Inc – a child welfare organisation currently working in Africa – we have designed a mobile, web-based, system for the secure recording and tracking of the critical identity and family history information that defines “each child’s story”.

We are currently working with a major international company to design and implement a system in Ghana to eliminate cash from an agricultural produce supply chain and enhance the core business processes for the benefit of all parties.

Each Inc

We're working with Each, Inc to provide them with a solution which allows information to be recorded out in the field on handsets and tablets about orphans and vulnerable children. This very simple configuration

allows children and parent trees to be built up in order to build up ‘each child’s story’.
