Chairman’s Message

In our endeavour towards meaningful contribution to the society, we at Kejriwal Institute of Management & Development Studies are committed to deliver the best in management education, a practice that is ingrained in our DNA. The fifth PGDM batch of students shall be passing out in 2015. We are thankful to the industry and corporate houses for giving our students an opportunity to shape their careers in the corporate world while recognising their talents and contributions in the work environment.

We have always believed in our students potential and have honed their knowledge and skills in the right direction with the right mindset and acumen for working in today’s dynamic business environment. Director’s Message

The guiding philosophy of the Institute has been creation of knowledge and influencing management practices. The objectives of imparting education, combined with creation, dissemination and application of knowledge, are being met in an integrated form, to create a synergetic impact.

KIMDS fosters and nurtures leaders capable of making difference in the management of corporate and other sectors. It inculcates human values and professional ethics in the students, which help them, make decisions and create path that are good not only for them, but also for the society. To fulfil its mission in new and powerful ways, each faculty member strives to achieve excellence in every endeavour by making continuous improvements in curriculum and pedagogical tools.

The PGDM, offered by the Institute subject the students to an overall transformation, training them to be better mangers, and better human beings. The rigorous syllabi instils in them, a passion for knowledge and its application in real life situations. The programme lays emphasis on overall personality development of the students and also in inculcating the values of teamwork and integrity in them. Regular student and faculty interaction with the corporate world is helping us in grooming our students into business leaders.

The academic system at KIMDS is functioning under the guidelines and direction of the Academic Council. The Academic Council comprises of members from distinguished domains having expertise in their relevant areas.

Academic System

The PGDM of KIMDS is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the apex body for approval of management institutes under the ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The Institute follows the semester system. The entire course consists of 4 semesters, each of which is of 6 months duration. The PGDM comprises of core and elective courses, in the core courses, students are exposed to the foundation of managerial skills as well as functional aspects of business. A six - eight week Summer Internship (at the end of first year) program is compulsory for all the students. This training helps the students to learn and handle problems in the real business scenario. From the third semester onwards students pursue electives in their chosen area of specialization. Regular class lectures are supplemented by a wide variety of quiz, tests, individual & group brainstorming exercises, discussions, presentations, project applications, etc. Managers today are facing increasing pressure to improve their presentation skills and the quality of oral communications. Students at KIMDS are required to make regular presentations on projects; in the process they become proficient in conveying ideas effectively.

Placement Process

The Placement Cell

The campus placement of the students of KIMDS is headed by the Chief Cooridnator of Placement Cell and assisted by the Placement Coordinator, student representatives and faculty members.

The campus placement process is as below:

Campus Placement commences from November till March 2015. Interested organizations inform us their date of visit for campus placement. On receiving communication from the interested organizations, the Placement Cell allocates a date for PPT and the recruitment process. Group Discussions, Interviews and other methods of selection adopted by the organization are conducted in the campus. If required, students may go for interviews at the company’s convenient location.

The candidates placed in one organization are not allowed to be the part of the placement activity for any other organization. On con?rming ?nal selection, the appointment letter issued by the organization is sent to the candidate through the Placement Cell.

Pre-placement talk (PPT) & selection process

Companies are expected to deliver a Pre-Placement Presentation to the students where all relevant information about the job may be discussed. PPTs can also be held by the company just prior to the commencement of the Campus Placement Programme at the Institute.

Date of joining

The students will complete their entire academic obligation by April 2015. They will be ready to join the organizations by Mid of April 2015. No students are allowed to join the organization without completion of the PGDM program.
