What have we done at Maplewood?
• We have been implementing PBIS for 6 years.
• We changed the process yearly for 4 years.
• We dedicate at least 3 hours at the beginning of the year for re-teaching of returning staff
• We have a 5 hour training for new staff

How can it get better?
• Work closely with PBIS team and administrators to focus on your positive data
• Share the data with the entire staff- the good and the ‘bad’
• Ask for input- PDSA• Share the data with
students
• Color code the Code of Conduct
• PDSA– Remember it is a process,

• We developed lesson plans to focus on each area of our school
• The teachers are required to teach the lessons – the first three weeks of school during
homeroom.– in January as a refresher/ re-teach
• Teachers and staff should follow same expectations as students

pass, 10 minute ‘free’ time, goodie pack

What about the kid that will not bring his form to every class?
• We also implemented a Teacher Only CICO
• Allows for record keeping on same level with no student involvement
• Parents still get a progress report
