Park School Campus Notes / Activities

June 1, 2012 Yearbook Arrival: Yearbooks are on sale during dismissal in the main foyer. Supplies are limited so be sure to place your order with Mrs. Morton soon. Yearbooks will be distributed to students in their homerooms on June 4th. If you have questions regarding Yearbook sales contact Mrs. Morton at [email protected]. Summer Wolves Reading Program: Studies have shown that students who read in the summer are more likely to have academic success in the following school year. We are expecting that each student read at least 20 minutes for ten days in each month of June, July, and August. Please see the attached Reading Wolves Program for incoming 1st -5th grade students. Incoming 6th-8th grade students have been given a novel with a summer assignment. D46 Email Problems Please continue to allow additional time for staff response to emails. Our district email servers continue to experience difficulty sending email. While we believe we are able to receive most emails, many email servers continue to block our outgoing email. 8th Grade Celebration Graduation The 8th grade dance on May 18th was a huge success. Thank you to all our parent volunteers for your hard work and donations. The students had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the decorations and food items prepared for them. An additional thank you goes out to our local Home Depot stores who donated many of the building materials that made the elaborate decorations possible.

Wait, what? This is it? The end of our school year?

The PTO has so many great memories of this school year. From Back-To-School night to Field Day, we’ve truly enjoyed seeing all of your smiling faces, and loved working alongside each of you at our events. We’re excited to share more events, and make new memories when we all return in August, and hope you’ll be there to support us again!

Let’s give a round of applause to the coordinators of Inspiration Day....Tiffany O’Malley and Laurie Luczak! The kids were very happy with the choices available to them this year, and came home with new skills, goodies they made, or a good story to tell. Field Day was a wet one! It’s a good thing our great Field Day coordinators Amy Teather and Sheri Sato are magicians and pulled some tricks out of their hats to make this INDOOR event a success. Many thanks to our volunteers who shared their talents, volunteered their time or materials or contributed in another way we haven’t mentioned. Without your help, these events would never be a success!

We are looking for assistance with our last Market Day host month on June 9. We need help from approximately 7:30 until the very latest at 11:00am. Please contact Irena Braun if you can assist at [email protected] The morning goes by fast when you are volunteering for a good cause with a group of really good people...with free donuts and coffee....and hey, put your kids to work, too

Over the summer, please continue to support Park Campus by ordering from Market Day, using your RedCard at Target, clipping Box Tops or by signing up for the Golf Outing (see the flyer on page 4).

Congratulations to all of our eighth grade classmates graduating, and moving on to High School next year. Please come back for Alumni Night next year! Everyone else, we look forward to seeing you in August!

It has been a pleasure serving you this year. Thank you for allowing us to show our love for the school, and for always supporting your 2011-2012 PTO Board! Farewell, and have a safe, happy, and sunny summer!

Signing off for the very last time...

Your Park Campus PTO,

Diane, Tiffany, Jennifer, Elena, Delia, Nicole, Jess & Irena
