A tractor-trailer owned by Herbert M Adams of Maple Street Bangor and driven by William H Walker of Mill Street Brunsshywick Me was parked in front of the AampP store when its park shying brake let go The truck rolled slowly backwards down Main Streethill sideswiped a 1955 Buick owned by Dr Wallace Housshyton of Milo and jack-knifed into the yard of an unused service station

Damage to the tractor cab was estimated at $25 00 The Buick received damage to the left front door The driver and two comshypanions were not in the truck at the time of the accident and Dr Houstons car was also unoccupied

1964 CENSUS OF AGRICULTURE Enumerators for the 1964 Census of Agriculture will start call shy

ing on farmers of Piscataquis County on November 23 according to Extension Agent Richard A Johnson

Enumerators are local men and women hired temporaily by the Bureau of the Census anagency of the U S Department of Comshymerce to countthe commercial farms in the communities where the enumerators live

The purpose of the visits is to collect census questionaries that farmers in the country have been filling out since the forms were mailed to all rural boxholders several days ago Farmers and ranchers were thus allowed a period of time to consult their 1964 business records and to fill out the forms before tiE enumerators came calling The purpose of the questionaire is to furnish needed up to date information on U S agricultural production and reshysources

During the visits enumerators will also review forms and assis t shyfarmers in completing the answers to any questions that the farshymers were unable to answer Filling out the form is required by the Census Act

The November meeting of the Trustees was held recentiy They voted to purchase a Flame-Photometerwhich is to be used for making s odium and potassium tests This device will cost betWeen $600 and $700 but is essential to the efficient operation of the Labshyoratory ill orderto save time and expense in sending to other Labshyoratories as at present

After discussion it was voted to make a change in the rates per bed per day For some time the rate has been $17 for all beds Effective Monday Nov 23 1964 the rate fora bed in semi private rooms will be $19 while the rate for wards will remain at $17

The Trustees voted to change tbe monthly meeting from the se - cond Tue middot to the Second Monday The next meeting will be Dff_ 14 at 700 p m

Mr and Mrs Harley Grant of Blanchard celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary from 1 30 to 330 at the Blanchard school house

They were married Nov 28th at Cherryfield by the Justice of Peace L C Haycock Mrs Gr ant born Sept 16 1895 at Chen field is the daughter of Susan and Rodney Mor se ~nd Mr Grant s o of Mr and Mrs Freeman Grant born July 27 1891 at Columshybia They lived in Cherryfield several years before moveing to Bangor where they resided until 1940 when they moved to Ban chard

Mr Grantwas a carpenter by trade They have eight children 21 grand-children and 11 great-grand children Six of the eight children were present at their observance on Sunday

Mr and Mrs Grant received a money tree and many cards and ~fts Refreshments were served including decorated anniversar
