ABSTRACT

By using an Image processing concept (MATLAB) the device provides the way to collect the data from various sources .

This device gives the liberty to user to have their desire data in various formats.

And the data can be stored with or without computer on portable data storage tool like PD, HD etc.

Stored data is editable in case of text or document format. It will give audible voice output

INTRODUCTION

Current era : Now we have digitised data like images, documents files , pdf etc.

Why we need this data compiler…….?? - Specific data gathering for various purposes from discrete sources. Before some decades ago: Data(information) were available

in only written or printed formats. - need of having data in various formats like image to text with limited processing and data resources. - and having printed data or information in text or various file formats.

DATA COMPILER

Data Compiler Data is distinct pieces of information, usually formatted in a

special way. Eg . Books ,News Papers , Articles etc. What is Data compilation? To put together (documents, selections, or other materials) in

archives or libraries.

IMAGE PROCESSING WITH MATLAB

MATLAB and Image Processing Toolbox :Images are everywhere, from everyday devices like cameras and smart phones to specialized devices for medical imaging, automotive safety, industrial automation, and more. Each of these uses for image processing has unique challenges. MATLAB and Image Processing Toolbox provide a flexible environment to explore design ideas and create unique solutions for imaging systems. Matlab toolbox used in our project are as follows: Image acquisition Toolbox. Image processing toolbox GUI builder.

COLOUR MARKERS

It is at the tip of the user’s fingers. Marking the user’s fingers with red, yellow, green, and blue tape helps the webcam recognize gestures. The movements and arrangements of these markers are interpreted into gestures that act as interaction instructions for the projected application interfaces.

IMAGE FILTERING

Image filtering is used to: Remove noise Sharpen contrast Highlight contours Detect edges

Image filters can be classified as linear or nonlinear.Linear filters are also know as convolution filters as they can be represented using a matrix multiplication.Thresholding and image equalisationare examples of nonlinear operations, as is the median filter.

Page 10: PDCppt1finalbe

Median Filtering:Median filtering is a nonlinear method used to remove noise

From images. It is widely used as it is very effective at removing noise while preserving edges.

It is particularly effective at removing ‘salt and pepper’ type noise. The median filter works by moving through the image pixel by pixel, replacing each value with the median value of neighbouring pixels. On the left is an image containing a significant amount of salt and pepper

noise. On the right is the same image after processing with a median filter median filter.

EDGE DETECTORCriteria for a good edge detector:Good detection: the optimal detector should find all real edges, ignoring noise or other artifactsGood localization: the edges detected must be as close as possible to the true edges the detector must return one point only for each true edge point

OPTICAL CHARACTER RECOGNITION (OCR)  OCR Technique in Matlab: It is used to convert characters in image form to characters in text form.Characters on image can have variations in font types and font sizes. Basics of OCR: OCR technology provides reproductive systems by scanning and imaging

systemsthe ability to convertimages of characters in a font of machine character can beunderstood or recognized by a computer. Thus, images of characters in a font of machine are drawn from a bitmap of the image reproduced by the scanner.

ADVANTAGES

Compact and Portable. Easy to access. Storage Efficiency. Gives data in various formats. Multiple images for processing should be there It reduces time and data compilation cost. Requirement of computer is not necessary.

LIMITATION

Language barrier. Image Orientation

APPLICATION Used for educational as well as at industrial level. Many student who are preparing for competitive exams . At the industrial level Companies has huge amount of data they need to

keep our data compiled in proper manner and updated. for that they invest lots of money data compiler can help them to do their work more faster and proper manner and also reduces cost.

Image content get read automatically. This project will help for illiterate person.

CONCLUSION

This Portable Data Compiler(PDC) comprises the compact, portable, easily accessible system which allows the user to compile his data from various sources.Data can be converted in to various formats like Images, docs which is editable.we can store the compiled data with or without computer.
