Back in Style: Hair Accessories 2013
This season, hair accessories are
back. Most women are happy to
hear about this new development if
only for the fact that just like
clothing and other accessories for
the body, hair accessories give you a
brand new way of looking great.
Hair Pins
Hair pinned to the side is attractive
and more than ever, hair accessories
such as these are making a
comeback. Using many bobby pins is
also an easy way to accentuate your
hair without seemingly trying very
hard. The recommended style for this hair is to wear it down and curl it in sections consisting
of one-inch at a time. Use silver or gold bobby pins to pin bangs out of the way and on your
off-center part, create smaller side twists. She also suggests using one small adornment
along with the bobby pins to add a bit of whimsy without seeming too much like a little
grade schooler.
Bandana Technique
Bandanas worn on the head are always attractive. Some may be reminded of factory worker
styles but there is a way to wear this with a modern twist. Use an orange or red bandana and
tie this into a top knot on your head. The rest of your hair should then be gathered and
wrapped around the top knot’s elastic. This is a chic yet casual look that you can wear to the
grocery store or to brunch.
Bow Pin
Okay, so bows are also back. Of course, no one wants to
be reminded of Minnie Mouse especially when you are
in an office meeting. On the other hand there is a way to
wear a bow under the bun. To get the volume you need
for bigger buns, you will need old socks. Cut off the sock
ends and wrap this around your hair like a tube. Put the
sock tubes around hair ends and wrap these slowly
moving upwards towards the elastic. Do this
continuously as you continually wrap and pin into place.
Finish this by attaching a bow pin or clip under the bun
you made.
Two Headbands
One way to wear accessories this season in 2013 is by wearing two thin headbands a few
inches apart on a ponytail. At the crown, tease your hair so that there are separated bands
with volumized hair. Headbands that have rhinestones or are glittery should be avoided for
this style. Thin bands that are black look perfect, not too girly and extremely chic. Pull your
hair into a medium-high pony tail, twist into a topknot that is messy and pin this into place.
