At the height of the Great Depression in 1930, the Sisters of Little Company of Mary opened the doors of Little Company of Mary Hospital because they recognized a need in the community for medical assistance and ongoing care. 85 years later, the Sisters and Little Company of Mary Hospital continue to live their mission and ministry of compassionate care and serve our ever-evolving community’s needs.

With a defined purpose of caring for the most vulnerable among us, the Little Company family of Mission-driven Services pushes past the walls of our campus to serve the underserved with respect and dignity. For mothers-to-be without adequate insurance, our Healthy Start Clinic provides healthcare services throughout pregnancy, birth and into the newborn’s first year of life. Our Mobile Medicine program allows frail and homebound patients to receive healthcare by regular visits of medical personnel to their homes for routine services. When tragedy strikes, children may be at a loss for proper support to guide them through grieving the death of a loved one. The Heart Connection program offers support to bereaved children and their families to guide them through such difficult times.

Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers is committed to offering the best care possible to our community and its members. It is only through your sustaining support that we are able to continue to offer state-of-the-art, mission-driven care as the hospital of choice for the families of Southwest Chicagoland.

Celebrating 85 Years

A New Direction Beverly Morgan Park (A.N.D.) is a non-profit organization providing counseling support and legal advocacy at no charge to victims of domestic violence. The effects of abuse – physical, financial, sexual, or emotional – are devastating. Children who

witness domestic abuse often become abusers or victims themselves. Though their clients are primarily from Beverly, Morgan Park (Chicago) and surrounding communities, A.N.D. has no geographic boundaries, and serves adults and children from any area with the vision to, one day, have every home be safe and free of domestic violence and abuse.

Rita Ryan is an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP) and Legal Advocate who has been providing domestic violence counseling and legal advocacy to abuse victims in the Beverly Morgan Park community for over 24 years. Rita worked tirelessly with community residents and partners to help establish A New Direction Beverly Morgan Park, in response to the needs of individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

The Venerable Mary Potter Humanitarian Award honors an individual who’s personal and professional accomplishments embody the ideas, vision and mission of Venerable Mary Potter, who founded the Little Company of Mary Sisters in 1877. Our Founder made a visible and positive difference in the community through praying and caring for the sick and dying as well as providing other social and educational services to the needy. This award is a testament to her gifts of compassion, commitment and empowerment. The Venerable Mary Potter Humanitarian Award will be presented to A New Direction Beverly Morgan Park – Rita Ryan.

For more than 50 years, Little Company of Mary Hospital has been at the forefront of critical care treating patients and families with compassion and quality healthcare in the Intensive Care Unit Department (ICU).

Throughout their 24/7 shifts, this team of professionals care for the most critical and fragile of LCMH’s patients, anticipating and responding to their needs and offering superior oversight and medical care. It is in the spirit of Sr. Nancy Boyle that these teams strive for excellence in all that they do to provide the best care to their patients and their families.
